Cheeseburger, Cheeseburger!

I was just thinking about this holiday weekend and the backyard barbecuing that seems so integral to summer holidays.  I thought this adorable image from Doodle Pantry was so perfect for today.  This cutie is called "Cheeseburger Ants" and you can find it in the Doodle Pantry store HERE.

This delicious image was colored with Copics and I've used Basic Grey's Life of the Party collection papers with it.

The layout is from Eat Sleep Stamp Sketch #132 - I've just rotated it 90 degrees left to suit the image I was using.  I'm entering this card in their challenge this week.

The Doodle Pantry "Stock the Pantry" challenge is still going on - you still have time to enter your creation using a Doodle Pantry image.

And a reminder that our first ever blog parade at Doodle Pantry begins June 3 - mark your calendar 'cause you won't want to miss that!  More details to come soon!

Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow

Happy Saturday and happy long weekend! It's so nice knowing we have an extra day off - I can use the downtime to catch up on things around the house and in my craft room! So let's start the weekend off with a little challenge beginning with Sugar Creek Hollow!
Today there's another new challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow!  We're challenging you to create a shaped card - something other than a square or rectangle.  Now I have a little explaining to do!  In the rush of busy week, I simply forgot that angle and did a square card so don't follow my example for the challenge!  Instead create a card in a circle or some other creative shape and remember to create in vintage, shabby chic or primitive style. And hooray we have a sponsor for this challenge too and a great prize for the winner!
We are so lucky to be sponsored by PriscillaStyles this week! One lucky randomly selected winner of the Sugar Creek Hollow challenge this week will win a $10 gift certificate to the PriscillaStyles Store. Thanks Priscilla for the wonderful prize!

Here's a closeup of my card. Priscilla so graciously provided some of her wonderful images for the DT to create with this week - thanks Priscilla!  This image is "Vintage Floral Bicycle" and you can find it in the PriscillaStyles Store HERE.  I embellished those wonderful flowers with pearls to draw more attention to the focal image. I also used Spellbinders Labels #16 and the Decorative Window Scene die exclusively available at Heartfelt Creations to frame the image on my card.

For the card layout, I used the sketch at Midnight Madness MMSC105 going with the clean and simple version. I'm entering my card in their challenge this week.

Edited to add:  This card won a "Remarkables" award at Midnight Madness!  YAY!

Now, stop on by the Sugar Creek Hollow challenge blog and see the creative inspiration that my DT team mates are providing this week. You don't want to miss that!

Introducing Herb the Patriot  - new today in the StampFairy Shop. In perfect time for the Memorial Day weekend or as you prepare decorations and invitation cards for Fourth of July parties.

Cute little Herb Patriot was colored with Copics and then paired with papers from Basic Grey's "Life of the Party" and October Afternoon's "Campfire" collections.

Peekaboo Baby at By LORi Designs

Today is my last post as part of the By LORi Designs challenge design team - so sad! It's been a wonderful time creating with these adorable and whimsical digi stamps. There isn't a card I've created with these images that folks receiving them didn't exclaim delight and mention the cute image.  So I thank LORi Boyd for this terrific experience and wish the new team coming in all the best.

This week we have a sketch for the By LORi Designs challenge. It's a good one too - fast to go together and very versatile.

Just follow this sketch and use a By LORi Designs image for your card and play along with us this week - won't you?!

My card uses "Peekaboo Baby" from the Lollipops collection at By LORi Designs. I paper pieced almost all of it using digital gingham check papers from Samantha Luck. A bow and button finish it off and you have a card perfect for a new baby or even an everyday thinking of you type card.

Now take a peek at the other design team creations as we finish off our term at By LORi Designs.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday #103

I can't believe it's already Wednesday - this week is flying by and that makes me very happy! Sweet Sketch Wednesday also makes me happy and today is the start of a new challenge and new sponsor there.

Our sponsor this week is The Stamping Boutique, owned by Tracey Malnofski, a wonderful digi and rubber stamp company with such a terrific selection of images. The Grand Prize winner of the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge this week will receive 5 free digis of their choice from The Stamping Boutique.  Thanks for the generous prize Tracey!

Here's the sketch to follow this week - lots of layers and a unique design but wonderfully accomodating of larger images like the one I used today on my card. Great sketch Arlana!

I thought this would be a fun image to create with. It's called "Cupcake Bakery" from The Stamping Boutique. It was colored with Copics and a bunch of glitter added with the use of a glitter gel pen - just the right amount of sparkle!  The papers are from Jillibean Soup's Blossom Soup collection and the yellow DP behind the image is Echo Park "Summer Days".

And finally, a handmade flower as a finishing touch to the card and by using the same papers, it perfectly coordinates and fits right in!

You just have to see the cards that the Sweet Sketch Wednesday design team is showing - what beauties! And with a variety of digis from The Stamping Boutique. Head on over to see and play in our challenge this week - guaranteed fun for you I promise!

Peaceful Day

It's my Dad's birthday is today and I've made this card for him.  This digi stamp set is from Doodle Pantry called "Cattail Pond" and comes with the cattail images and the pond image and several sentiments.  It was originally released in February and is perfect for so many type of cards, including masculine as I've done here.

Click here to visit the Doodle Pantry Store

The pond and cattail images were colored in Copic markers - I used the colorless blender pen to get the mottled effect on the grass and in the pond.  I've used the hound's tooth embossing folder from Cuttlebug for the torn background panels. The main image was cut out using Spellbinders Labels #20.  Everything was distressed using Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress inks.

We have the "Stock the Pantry" challenge going on at the Doodle Pantry blog - still plenty of time to enter a card or papercraft project using a Doodle Pantry image. If you win, you get to stock your pantry with Doodle Pantry images!  We'd love it if you joined us in the challenge!

Give me an S! Give me an F! StampFairy!!!!

Oh I'm cheering today alright - cheering that it's Friday that is!!!  Also cheering that it's another new image release at StampFairy today!  So let me introduce you to Linda the Cheerleader...

Aren't these new Linda Cheerleader images so fun?  Just released and in the StampFairy Shop ready for you to pick up!  And for you freebie fans - the "Cheer" sentiment image is a freebie for you and a perfect finishing touch with the new Linda images.

Here she is a little closer.  This adorable cheerleader was colored with Copics and the pompoms and dress were paper pieced - it's a perfect image for doing that.  I used papers from Basic Grey's Lauderdale collection - a fun color combination isn't it?

I used the freebie sentiment and added white gel pen dots to coordinate with the polka-dot ribbon. A great finishing touch and a sentiment that is versatile for a variety of cards like thinking of you, happy birthday or a card to "cheer" someone up!

Now you just have to make your way over to the StampFairy World blog and see the design team's samples using Linda Cheerleader. I am just giddy over the inspiration this week from our team - lots of fun paper piecing ideas and such creative layouts and dimensional effects. You don't want to miss them - and a little bit of cheering for the DT would be nice too!

And if you love challenges, there's still time to play along in the StampFairy Challenge this week. Create a card using a StampFairy image and three embellishments and you've got the right ingredients to join in!  Some more great inspiration with a variety of StampFairy images from our DT there too!

Have a terrific weekend everyone and thanks so much for stopping by today!
