Sweet Sketch Wednesday

Boy this week is flying by! It's time for another Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge and we have a great sketch and a sponsor that everyone loves this week.

Isn't this a fun sketch this week?  Of course we all love every one of Arlana's sketches and this week is no exception. I like that the oval is horizontally oriented on this sketch - something a little different.

And of course who doesn't love Bugaboo StampsBugaboo Stamps is the sponsor of our challenge this week and is providing 7 digi stamps for a total of $21 to the Grand Prize winner. Thanks Jodie for the generous prize.  We love your stamps!

This adorable Bugaboo image is "Picnic Ant" and he is so darn cute! Look at that happy face on him! He was colored with Copics and paired with this fun apple paper from Studio Calico.  The green printed paper behind the cute ant is the reverse side of the apple paper. The flower I used is handmade out of the same paper collection.

Be sure to stop by the Sweet Sketch Wednesday blog to see the inspiration provided by the design team. You'll love the variety of Bugaboo Stamps they've created with this week.

Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow

Welcome to another sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow challenges. We truly have a sensational challenge this week for you - a fun new twist and a wonderful sponsor that I know you all love.

We're having some fun with the challenge this week - it's a Tic Tac Toe Challenge!  Pick your recipe by selecting three elements for your card going horizontally, vertically or diagonally.  Of course your card should be created in vintage, shabby chic or primitive styles at the same time you select your elements.  I can't wait to see the creations you'll come up with for this unique challenge.  Sure hope you play along with us!
And we're so lucky to be sponsored by A Day For Daisies this week.  The winner, selected randomly, of the challenge will receive a very generous $12 gift certificate to A Day For Daisies store.  You'll find some of the sweetest images at A Day For Daisies, including some wonderful vintage images.

The image I selected this week is the 1940's Apron from A Day For Daisies. I colored her in Copics and paired her with the beautifully vintage papers from Webster Pages' "Sweet Cherry Pie" collection.  My recipe runs horizontally and is Lace, Buttons and DieCuts.  I'm pretty happy with the vintage look of my card this week.

I know you'll enjoy the beautiful cards that the design team created to inspire you this week. You can see all the eye candy at the Sugar Creek Hollow challenge blog.

I'd like to enter this card in the Craft Your Days Away - VINTAGE challenge (CYDA #23).

At a Snail's Pace....

Happy Friday to everyone!  Friday means the weekend is almost here and it also means a new release of images at StampFairy!  This darling snail is one of the new images released today. Isn't she cute?!

Here's the full collection of images.  They're available in the StampFairy Shop now and you can find them HERE.

I just couldn't resist these adorable papers from K&Company's "Sweet Nectar" series to pair with this cutie patootie. The snail was colored with Copics and I added a little glitter to her to create that irridescence that shells have.

There are some wonderful samples that Gerda and the design team created using this sweet snail.  Head on over to StampFairy World and see what great inspiration they provide.

And a quick reminder that you still have time to enter the StampFairy Challenge this week.  It's a sketch challenge this time and a good sketch too!  You'll find a lot of creative samples there using other StampFairy images so please visit!

Just a Year Wiser

Today I'm showcasing one of the wonderful images from Doodle Pantry. This owl was released at Doodle Pantry last month and it's a perfect image for masculine cards.   I'm trying to stock up on my guy cards because of several birthdays coming up and this image was first on my list.  You can find the image HERE at the Doodle Pantry Store.

It's such a striking image.  I colored it in Copics (W1, W3, W5, YG91, YG95, YR23, E33, E35, E37), sponged the panel with Kiwi ink and used the Spellbinders Labels #18 diecut.  The papers are from Stampin' Up. The inside sentiment reads "You're not a year older, just a year wiser" which I thought was fitting with the owl.

The Doodle Pantry "Stock the Pantry" challenge is going on.  All you have to do is create a card or paper project using a Doodle Pantry image.  There's plenty of great freebies at the Doodle Pantry Store to try out - we'd love to have you join the challenge this month.  There will be three winners chosen and each will get a free Doodle Pantry image of their choice.  Hope to see your creation in the gallery!

Sweet Sketch Wednesday

Happy Wednesday! Oh how the past week has just flown by and it's time again for another Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge.  If you visit the SSW blog you'll see that I did the post this week and have showcased some of the wonderful things about my state - Michigan. This is something that my creative team-mate Kathie came up with and this week is was my turn so take a look!  Now, we have another great sketch for you this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday and a new prize sponsor so let's get started.

Arlana continues to amaze us with her sketches - this one is especially nice because it shows off designer paper and prominently features embellishments.

Our new sponsor this week is Amber Ink and they are so generously providing a $15 gift certificate to the Grand Prize Winner of the challenge.

Here's my closeup shot showing all the digital paper piecing I did with this terrific image. The image is Amber Ink's "But I Need It" and comes with the separate purse, shoe and sentiment that I've used here.  The digital papers are Blissful from Zoe Pearn that I got from Sweet Shoppe Designs. This was a really fun image to play with this week.

Now pop on over to see the design team creations using Amber Ink images - lots of inspiration there on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday site.  Hope you have a great week.

Batter Up!

Happy Monday! It's time for a StampFairy Challenge and I'm showcasing the adorable Lenny playing baseball.  My family is a bunch of baseball nuts - we all love the sport and both my kids play the game.  My son is currently playing on a travel team and I've colored this to match his team jerseys and hats. He had a tournament all weekend and did pretty well.

The new challenge at StampFairy is a terrific sketch.  Just use a StampFairy image and follow this layout and enter our challenge won't you?!

Here's a closeup of Lenny as he prepares to hit the baseball!  You can find this wonderful image HERE in the StampFairy Shop.  The background paper is digital and the baseball embellishments I made using a circle punch and red fine-line marker for the stitching.

And here is a new character and collection released today at StampFairy:

This precious guy is called Tommy and the collection features him in all kinds of sports. He's available in the StampFairy Shop now and you can find him HERE.

Now head on over to the StampFairy Challenge Blog and see the amazing inspiration that my fellow design teamies have created.  You'll love what you see there.

Under The Sea

A quick post tonight showcasing a birthday card I made for my daughter's friend. This darling mermaid is from StampFairy and you can find her at the StampFairy Shop HERE.  The shells that I used here are a freebie with the Mermaid collection.

I used a variety of border punches to create the water/waves as well as the embossing on the main panel.  She was colored with Copics and a lot of glitter added because Mermaids should always have a little shimmer!

I'm entered this card in the "Under The Sea" challenge at CardMadFairy's Digi Days Challenge blog.

Sugar Creek Hollow Challenges

Welcome! It's another sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow!  This week we have a color challenge for you...

The colors are Purple, Black and Kraft - create a vintage, shabby chic or primitive style card or paper project using these colors.  I do hope you'll join us this week at Sugar Creek Hollow.

On my card for this challenge I used stamps from three Stampin Up sets:  Notably Ornate, Artistic Etchings and Clearly for You.  It's been a while where I didn't use Copic markers or any designer papers at all in making a card. This was all about turning plain cardstock into something and about rubber and it felt good!

Now visit the Sugar Creek Hollow challenge blog and see the inspiration the design team is offering this week!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Shiver Me Timbers!

Ahoy there Mateys! It's a wonderful Friday, the kids are out of school for the summer (Yay! No more finals or homework!) and I'm ready for a great weekend with good weather and a little fun.  It's also time to showcase another wonderful release at StampFairy and today it's all about pirates - arrrgh!

Aren't these just the cutest?  I love that Gerda has the map and the palm tree too - just think what great kid cards you can create with these fun images.  The skull and cross bones is today's freebie too and you can find all this goodness HERE at the StampFairy Shop.

I thought this was the perfect image to make a fun birthday card using this sentiment I created and on the inside it says "You're how old?!".  This darling pirate was colored with Copics and the digital papers I used are from Great Graphics - a site I stumbled upon that has some terrific papers.

And what is a pirate without his trusted parrot friend?  I found this cute button and thought it was a perfect embellishment for this theme.

Now head on over to StampFairy World to see the rest of the adorable cards our team has created to inspire you this week. And a reminder that you still have time to play along in the StampFairy Challenge where the theme is masculine cards this week.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday - SSW106

Greetings! This week seems to be going by quickly. My kids are glad for that - they are still in school with these being the remaining days. Things have been tense with big final exams each day and I think we'll all be glad when summer break officially begins in a few days!  So let's get focused on today which is the start of another Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge! I've chosen to do a Father's Day card this week to show off the new sketch.

Here's the wonderful sketch this week - it's another smash hit from Arlana! This one has layers to create some depth but plenty of room to see your papers and add embellishments and a sentiment if you desire.

And we welcome back Digi Stamp Boutique as our sponsor of the challenge this week.  Sally Ann, the owner, is generously providing the Grand Prize winner with an amazing 6 free digi images as the prize! Now that's worth entering a card in this challenge for sure!

I've used "Golf Alf", a wonderfully whimsical character from Digi Stamp Boutique this week and a perfect image for my golfer husband on Father's Day.  He was colored with Copics, including the background. I color the sky with a light blue and then go over it with the colorless blender to get the mottled effect. My embellishments are supposed to look like oversize golf balls (wouldn't that make it easier to golf with - LOL) and they were done with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and circle punch. The papers are from Basic Grey's "Marjolaine" collection.

The Sweet Sketch Wednesday design team always does a great job with Digi Stamp Boutique images as inspiration for you so head on over there to see what they've created this week.  We have a new designer joining the team - Patti Painter from Patti's Paper Creations - and you're going to love seeing her creativity week after week on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday team!  Welcome Patti!

With Sympathy

Just a quick post this Monday to show a sympathy card I made for some dear friends of our family. I decided to make a sentiment a focal point of the card and am pleased with how it turned out since I don't do this often.

I like this sentiment on the front instead of the traditional "With Sympathy" text. And I think the embellishments and doily really steal the show.

And on the inside of the card is another favorite verse I like to use for this type of card. I think it's a beautiful saying and I like how it centers on memories and an everlasting presence of a loved one within our hearts.
