Butterfly and Sunflowers

Happy Wednesday friends!  It's hard to believe this is the last Wednesday in September - where did the month go? I'm a fan of the fall season though so I'm delighted with the cooler days, clear skies and sun. I have a fall card for you today using the new sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday and an image from Eureka Stamps, a new sponsor for us.

Isn't this a fabulous sketch? I love how it turns out and the embellishments can be flowers or anything else you can creatively think of.  You'll have to see the variety of ideas from the rest of the design team at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

We welcome Eureka Stamps as our new sponsor this week. What a whopping selection of rubber stamps and digi stamps Tina, the owner, offers at her shop.  The grand prize winner of the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge will receive 5 digital stamps from Eureka Stamps - an absolutely fantastic prize package you won't want to miss your chance at winning. Thanks Tina for your very generous support!

I chose this image from Eureka Stamps called Butterly and Sunflowers. I love the composition of this digi stamp. It was colored with Copic markers and I glittered and popped up the butterfly for some dimension. I used papers from Bo Bunny's Gabrielle collection. The smaller butterflies as my embellishments in the sketch are a MS punch in coordinating papers.

Now pop on over to see the wonderful variety of Eureka Stamps that the Sweet Sketch Wednesday design divas used on their cards - you'll be so inspired by the creativity you see there.

Pumpkin Sketch

Happy Wednesday friends! The days are getting shorter and cooler here in Michigan and we're ready for fall. So it's time to start those Halloween cards and the challenge this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday is the place to start for a terrific sketch to follow.

This week's challenge uses a sketch from the past - this one first appearing in July 2011 and drawn by our own Arlana.  This one is perfect for a Halloween card because it looks like a pumpkin to me!

Just for fun and more inspiration, here's the card I made using this same sketch the first time it appeared at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

Our monthly sponsor, Digi Stamp Boutique, is back this week and we all love the digis that Sally Ann has in her shop. DSB has generously supported Sweet Sketch Wednesday since our challenges started here 224 sketches ago!  The grand prize winner of the challenge this week will receive six free digi stamps from Digi Stamp Boutique - a fabulous prize!  Thanks Sally Ann for your enduring support!

The DSB image I used is Halloween Hattie and she's so brave holding on to that darn spider! Not something I could do, I can tell you that! I pulled these Halloween papers from my stash - they're from Cosmo Cricket and go perfectly with the image and all the stars. So I colored it up using Copic markers with the star colors pulled from the paper used. The pumpkin embellishment is a button and the spider web trim is a MS punch.

I sure hope you join us in the challenge this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. Stop on by our blog and see the fabulous creations and inspiration from the design divas using Digi Stamp Boutique images and this week's sketch!

Magical Bloom Dancer

Hi there fan and followers of Sweet Sketch Wednesday! We have a new challenge starting today and you're just going to love the creativity of the sketch we're using so let's get started...

Here's the sketch that our own Sally created for the challenge this week. I love the unusual treatment here with the draping on the left which prompted my use of the tulle fabric like a curtain. The design team interpreted this in many different creative ways so stop on by Sweet Sketch Wednesday for the inspiration.

A Day For Daisies is our sponsor this week and we love to create with the wonderful digi stamps that Tammi creates.  The Grand Prize winner of the challenge this week will receive a $12 gift certificate to A Day For Daisies - a very generous prize package.  Thanks for your support Tammi!

I chose this beautiful ballerina image from A Day For Daisies called Magical Bloom Dancer to create with. I flipped the image to make it look like the ballerina was entering the performance stage from behind the curtain.  I used the tulle fabric because it was sheer and mimics the fabric used on ballerina gowns. The image was colored with Copic markers and glitter added along with some touches of glitter pen on the blooms. I love how this scene turned out with this fantastic sketch.

I hope you give this sketch a try and join us at Sweet Sketch Wednesday this week. Stop on by and see the fabulous cards the gals created for your inspiration using A Day For Daisies images.

Teacup

Well the kids are back in school and that makes morning here just as hectic as ever - in a good way of course! My son is a high school senior now and every school day is meaningful and to be cherished. I know this year will go by fast for him and me :(  My daughter is off to a good start as a sophomore too - gobs of homework on the first day but she's handled it just fine.

Now on to today's card for the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge this week. We're featuring Broken Box Designs images and have some great samples to inspire you at SSW.

Sally created the sketch for this week's challenge and it goes together quickly and looks terrific. I hope you give it a try and join us in the challenge fun this week.

Broken Box Designs is our sponsor this week and Wendy, the owner and illustrator, has such a wonderful selection of images to choose from. We loved creating with her digi stamps this week. The Grand Prize winner of the challenge will receive a $5 gift certificate from Broken Box. Thanks Wendy for your sponsorship of our challenge!

I collect teacups and this Teacup image from Broken Box caught my eye. I decided for a vintage look with my card this week using Copic markers to color the image, distress inks and some vintage looking papers from MME. I added a bit of sparkle with a glitter pen which is a bit difficult to photograph well.

For more inspiration using the sketch this week, stop on over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday and take a look at the design team samples using Broken Box images. There's a whole selection of wonderful card that will entice you to join us this week in the challenge.  Hope to see your card in the mix this week!
