Friends

Hi everyone! I hope all my friends and followers in the U.S. are enjoying the Memorial Day holiday.  I've been enjoying this wonderfully long weekend by crafting and doing a few card challenges - like this card here.  I love A Day For Daisies digis so much, especially this sweet image of Rose Red & Snow White from the Fairy Tales release last year.  I thought this was a perfect image for a special friend's birthday card.

This beautiful digi stamp was colored with Copics.  I used die cuts from Spellbinders and MFT and gorgeous papers from My Mind's Eye "Howdy Doody" from the Miss Caroline line.

I'm playing in the ADFD challenge this week - my first time which is hard to believe!

I was inspired by this sketch at The Sweet Stop and am playing in that sketch challenge too.

Hopping Down the Bunny Trail

Hoppy Tuesday everyone!  I wanted to show off this terrific Doodle Pantry image and digi papers today - in time for making those Easter cards.  This wonderful digi set called Quirky Bunny was just released at Doodle Pantry.  The thing is you can't buy it just yet because it's FREE for anyone that participates in the Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge this month!

This little wabbit is so cute don't you think?  I used the outlines version of the image which was colored with Copics.  The set contains both pre-colored images and outlines, plus the eggs and carrot images I'm featuring as part of this card design.  Unbelievable that it's free for just playing along in the Doodle Pantry Challenge.

I'm joining in on The Sweet Stop sketch challenge with my Quirky Bunny card.  You know how you find a sketch and all the fireworks of creativity just start shooting off in your head? Well that's what happened with this terrific sketch!  I thought the eggs and carrots were the perfect embellishment given this sketch.

I also just wanted to mention that the papers used here are all digital from Doodle Pantry as well.  The carrot and flower papers come with the Quirky Bunny collection and the egg paper is part of the new Easter Paper Pack.

Daydreaming of Spring

Happy Wednesday and welcome back for my showcase on Inky Impressions rubber stamps.  Today we have a new challenge at the Inky Impressions Challenge Blog. We're looking for bright colors - specifically yellow, pink and green.  These are the colors of Spring and it feels good to create with them. I feel like it's helping turn the weather too - it's due to get near 50 degrees here in SE Michigan by the end of the week!

For my card this week, I'm using Angelica's Daydream from Inky Impressions.  I think she's adorable sitting there just dreaming about Springtime.  She was colored with Copics and the papers I used are from the Happy Days collection of Echo Park.

I was inspired by this incredible sketch at The Sweet Stop in creating my card.  I absolutely love this design and couldn't wait to try it.  I'm playing along in their challenge this week which also has a "spin" on it - also use dies or punches in creating your card.  You can see that I used the Italian Flourish Doily diecut from Cheery Lynn Designs and the Die-Namics Dizzy Border diecut from My Favorite Things.

The Ants Have Returned!

Happy Tuesday friends! The ants are back in town at Doodle Pantry and having a bunch of fun with their hot chocolate and marshmallows!  This adorable set "Cocoa Ants" was just released last week and is one of my new favorites at Doodle Pantry.  The best thing about this set is that it's FREE!  All you have to do is....

play along with us in this month's Doodle Pantry Challenge!  Yes that's all!  Just enter a card using a Doodle Pantry image in our challenge on the Doodle Pantry Blog and you'll get this Cocoa Ants image sent to you free as our token of appreciation for being one of our Doodle Pantry fans.

These cute ants are perfect for a guy card which I've created for your inspiration today.  I had a blast coloring this image with Copic markers - they just bring a smile when I look at them enjoying themselves with those marshmallows! The papers are from My Mind's Eye "All Spice" collection in the perfect guy colors.

I followed this sketch from The Sweet Stop in creating my card, except that I rotated the sketch 90 degrees clockwise.  The sentiment I wanted to use from the Cocoa Ants set and the marshmallow embellishments I created seemed to work better with the sketch rotated like this.

Dress Up Day

Welcome back - this is my second post for the day!  Scroll down for the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge post.



Today is my last post as guest designer for Inky Impressions.  I've really enjoyed by two month guest spot there. The stamps are absolutely adorable, very high quality and a lot of fun to create with.  So thanks to Nicole for having me on her team!

The challenge theme this week at the Inky Impressions Challenge blog is Paper Flowers.  So create a card with your own handmade paper flowers embellishing it and come play with us at Inky Impressions!

This Inky Impressions image is "Zoe's Dress Up Day" and isn't she precious?! Zoe was colored with Copic markers, the papers are from My Mind's Eye "Honey Cake" collection.  The paper flowers are made using a Martha Stewart cornflower punch - four layers each flower. 

The layout was inspired by this week's sketch at The Sweet Stop challenge blog. I rotated the sketch to suit the image I am using.  The spin in the challenge this week is to use pink.  I think I have that covered!

Moochas Gracias - SSS124

A quick post today to show my Moochas Gracias card - its a thanks for a co-worker who baked a gazillion molasses cookies for my birthday last week. They were absolutely delicious and of course my favorite.  They went pretty quick once I brought them home!

I followed the sketch at The Sweet Stop challenge blog and am entering this card in the challenge this week. 

This is the adorable Betsy the cow - it's from StampFairy and you can find her in the StampFairy Shop HERE.  Betsy was colored with Copics and the card put together with digital papers from Raspberry Road.  The simple sentiment on the inside says "Moochas Gracias".  I know he'll get a kick out of this card.

Poor Sick Lenny!

Happy Friday everyone! It's time for a new release today at StampFairy featuring our poor sick Lenny.  We just have to send him get well wishes for a speedy recovery!

Here's a little closer view of Lenny.  He must have a pretty bad bump on the head to be sporting the ice pack that I paper pieced!  You can see that I used the freebie image and enlarged it as part of the sketch I was following from The Sweet Stop SSS122. 

Here's a closeup of the fabulous fibers I incorporated into my card using bakers twine in red and turquoise - the fibers are the added requirement with the sketch challenge this week at The Sweet Stop.

I'm also entering this card in the Crazy 4 Challenges Bingo challenge this week (C4C101).  I chose the paper piecing (Lenny's ice pack), ribbon (black) and 2 or more designer papers.  My DP is from the new Echo Park line called Happy Days.

Super Birdie!

I've been so excited for the new release at Doodle Pantry today to show you this darling Super Birdie! What a terrific image that's perfect to use for guys and gals alike. This wonderful new set features line drawings and precolored images plus eight sentiments and three digi papers! How can you resist that deal?

On my card I used all three of the new coordinating digi papers. I love using digi papers - if what you've cut doesn't work, just print out more and start over! Fortunately this time I didn't have to do reprints because instead of experimenting with the layout I worked from The Sweet Stop sketch #104 for the design of my card. I'm entering this card in The Sweet Stop challenge this week which is the sketch and with a "spin" to incorporate "winged things" in the card. Well, my Super Birdie certainly adds the winged things!

This release, Laurie has made some wonderful changes and is offering bundle savings on the new releases.  If you purchase these three digi sets in the new release you'll save about 25%. How can you resist getting more for less?!!  Please see the Doodle Pantry site for the details on this new bundled set offer!

And today kicks off another Doodle Pantry challenge, DPDC12, as well.  The theme this time is "Bursting with Buttons". Buttons are one of my favorite and most used design element. I think that comes from the love of sewing that I've had since very, very young and the first craft I started in : )  So get your button stash and join us this time won't you? Here's The Sweet Stop sketch #104 that I followed for the layout of my card. I'm entering this challenge which calls for using this sketch plus a spin which is "winged things" as part of your design.

The Sweet Shop Sketch Challenge - SSS100

Just a quick post today on card I made using the wonderful sketch at The Sweet Stop. They are celebrating their 100th sketch this week.  I thought it was a dandy so I used it on this card that I made for my daughter. The image is By LORi Designs called "Harper" from the Puddle Jumper collection - I love this darling image and it's perfect for a girl card.

Here the Sweet Stop sketch I followed - I told you it was a dandy this week!

And here's a little closer look at the By LORi Designs image.  "Harper" was colored with Copics and I used Cosmo Cricket's "DeLovely" collection papers on this card. I could use these papers every day - I love the fun bright colors and patterns.  I made the flower with the rhinestone center and paired it with one from Recollections.  And that's it! Pretty quick to put together using the sketch. Let me know what you think.
