Sugar Creek Hollow 3-2-1 Challenge

Happy Saturday my online friends! What a week with Blogger going haywire and my travel with work. I'm just now trying to recover (actually redo) my posts - and I thought I was so very clever and working ahead! Well you all had the same issues so I won't belabor that. Instead let's go to the new challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow starting today!

This week's challenge is to create a vintage/primitive card using 3 designer papers, 2 die cuts and 1 charm.  We're calling it the 3-2-1 challenge and would love for you to play along with us.

As we've indicated, the Sugar Creek Hollow challenge blog has changed up a bit - now with a strengthened focus on the creation of vintage, shabby chic and/or primitive card styles using a variety of stamp companies.  Well this week, we're focusing on the wonderful images provided by Shelly's Images who is sponsoring our challenge this week.  The winner of the Sugar Creek Hollow challenge this week will receive 3 free digi images of their choice from Shelly's Images. Now that's a wonderful prize and hopefully will entice you to join our weekly challenge!

We were so lucky to get Shelly's Images to play with for our inspiration cards this week. For my card, I've used "Pansies" - a beautiful digi stamp that won 2nd place in the first CDAC digi drawing challenge.  I love this stamp and it was such fun to create a vintage card using it. I colored the image with Copics to achieve this look. My three designer papers are from K&Company's Julianne collection. They include the background floral, the green panel behind the image and the blue diecut behind the focal panel. The 2 diecuts include a doily die from MFTStamps "Die-namics" and the "decorative window scene" die, an exclusive from Heartfelt Creations. I thought the charm was perfect for this card because it says "Bloom where you are planted".

I encourage you to visit the Sugar Creek Hollow blog to see more of Shelly's Images used this week in some pretty incredible cards created by our design team.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Sweet Sketch Wednesday & Candy Winner!

Greetings everyone! I'm posting today from beautiful Oakland, California where I'm traveling on business this week. It's my first trip to Oakland - it's fun getting to a spot I haven't seen especially when you're traveling for work.

Today starts another Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge and the winners from our 100th sketch celebration have been announced.  I've got a bit of announcing myself - for the blog candy I was offering the blog hop and challenge participants this last week so let's get going!

First I'd like to thank all my new followers and those that left such lovely comments on my blog. It's so fun to make new online friends and I am grateful and humbled that you might get a little inspiration from what I create.  For my blog candy, I took all the names in order from the comments and from there selected from those that are following me and participated in the 100th sketch challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  The name was drawn randomly and I'm pleased to announce that the winner is:

Congratulations Ann! Please send me an email (contact info on the tab at the top of the blog) with your mailing address and I'll get the blog candy out to you in a jiffy! This is the card that Ann entered into the Sweet Sketch Wednesday 100th sketch challenge last week.

Now on to this week's Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge.....

Here's sketch 101 - another fun sketch to work with. This one goes together quick and I love that your background paper really shows through with this design.  I like the off-center focal panel too - it adds such interest to the card.

We're thankful for our wonderful sponsor this week, Sassy Cheryl's.  Cheryl is generously providing a $5 gift certificate to Sassy Cheryl's to the Grand Prize Winner of the challenge this week. Thanks Cheryl! We all loved creating our samples this week with your delightful images.

This Sassy Cheryl's image is called "The Little Girl's Flower" and you can find her HERE.  I colored her with Copics and in some areas that I wanted highlighted, I went over the Copics with Prismacolor pencil. Prismacolor pencil was used for the slight shadowing on the image as well.  At this time, I forgot to include the name of the designer papers that I used. So when I return from this trip, I'll edit the post to include that.

And the final touch is the handmade flower in the lower right corner. I just punched circles from the DP and crumpled them a lot. The purple gingham brad holds the layers in place.

Be sure to visit the Sweet Sketch Wednesday blog to see the other Sassy Cheryl's images we used this week. You'll be inspired by the designs my team-mates came up with this week.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sensational Sketch at Sugar Creek Hollow

Finally Saturday has arrived! I do love my weekends to craft and catch up on my sleep among other things.  Today at Sugar Creek Hollow we have a few changes and a sketch for the challenge this week.

On the Sugar Creek Hollow challenge blog we're now featuring stamps from any manufacturer but focusing on cards/projects that are vintage, shabby chic or primitive inspired creations. So to win, your entries should fit this style. In the future we'll have sponsors and feature those artists in our cards.

This week it's a sketch challenge - so please follow this sketch when you create a card for our challenge this week.

This card features the "Scripture Children" stamps from Clear Dollar Stamps - stamped in Vintage Violet ink on vanilla cardstock.  The designer papers are K&Company. Several Spellbinders dies were used:  Labels #14 and #17 and lattice dies. Tim Holtz distress inks were used: Pumice Stone and Antique Linen.

Please make it a point to visit the Sugar Creek Hollow site and see the rest of the design team's creations - it may just give you the inspiration to enter our challenge this week.  Hope you do!

Thanks for stopping by!

Inroducing Donny Ladybug at StampFairy

Oh thank goodness it's finally Friday! I am anxious to see this week come to a close and the weekend to begin - it's been a busy one and I'm out of steam and need a rest!!!!  Plus I want more time to craft and make my cards!

You may also be wondering about my StampFairy post here on a Friday versus Monday. Well we've mixed things up a bit with the design team and I'll now be bringing you new releases from StampFairy each Friday like this wonderful new collection of digi's called Donny Ladybug:

You can now find these adorable images in the StampFairy Shop. You see that ladybug in the bottom right hand corner?  That's a freebie - so be sure to get to the shop and get that one. You'll find it with the Donny Ladybug collection.

Darling Donny was colored with Copics here. I've used October Afternoon papers from the Modern Homemaker pack - love this daisy paper don't you? And isn't that ball fringe fun too?!

On my card I added several of the freebie ladybugs as embellishments. I couldn't resist putting one on the daisy where you'd probably find them for real.  The red really pops against the white of the daisy.

So that's my card and the new release today at StampFairy.  Be sure to stop by StampFairy World to see the new release and the design team cards showcasing Donny LadyBug.

There's also still time to enter the StampFairy challenge this week.  The theme is shaker cards and we're seeing some terrific entries from our followers and of course the DT samples are very inspiring. Why don't you stop over there and join us in the challenge this week?

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Sketch Challenge at By LORi Designs

Back for a second post today to showcase By LORi Designs and the new challenge, BLDC16, this week. We're shaking things up a bit with a little departure from the normal color challenge so you're in for some fun. We're going with a wonderful sketch that looks great, is easy to put together and can be fully embellished or left simple if need be.

I think this sketch makes for a terrific card, especially when you use a combination of designer papers.

I'm featuring Puddle Jumper Rylee from By LORi Designs on my challenge card this week. I adore her polka dot pants, her pony tails and those MaryJane shoes! I've used a new line of DP from My Mind's Eye: Lime Twist series. These are the "Happy Go Lucky" collection papers and I love the colors - lots of possibilities with these.  A couple rhinestone brads for the embellishment and you have a finished card.

I hope you join the challenge this week - if selected you can win a By LORi Designs image of your choice.  All you have to do is create a card using the sketch above and a By LORi Designs image and link it to the BLD challenge blog.  And when you're there, take a look at the wonderful cards created by the design team for this challenge - they'll inspire you for sure.

And here's late breaking news from LORi Boyd of By LORi Designs.....

"Terrific" Pig - Doodle Pantry New Release!

Welcome! Today is a new release of adorable images at Doodle Pantry and I'm so excited to show you this cute little Mud Piggy making his arrival today. Doesn't he just make your toes curl with delight?!! He's one of 9 new digi stamp sets in the release today.  To see all the new release sets, digi papers and paper craft template being introduced today, please visit the Doodle Pantry Store or the Doodle Pantry Blog.

Here's a look at the Doodle Pantry Mud Piggy set - you get the line drawing and a precolored image too, plus sentiments and two coordinating digital papers. Such a great deal for a super cutie set.

Here's a closeup of this "terrific" pig. He was colored in Copics and I gave him blue eyes to match the DP I used from My Mind's Eye Stella and Rose collection Gertie papers.  I just can't get over how sweet he is with that adorable face. Can't you just imagine a million different cards you can use him on?

My inspiration for the sentiment I created was from Charlotte's Web and the words Charlotte wove into her web to describe Wilbur:  "Terrific", "Radiant" and "Humble".  I just couldn't resist since this Mud Piggy brought that classic children's story (one of my favorites) to my mind when I first saw him.

Laurie is running another great special at the Doodle Pantry Store on the new releases:

May 5-8 -- May Release Bundle is 32% off!  This bundle includes 5 of the May releases: Owl, Reel 'em In, Ducky Duck, Mud Piggy and Grad Hats.  Just $8 for all 5 digi sets wheh you put the MAY BUNDLE into your cart.  (No refunds though if you purchase and overpay for individual products.)

May 5-8 -- Noah's Ark Favor Box SVG and Template will be 25% off!  Already reduced, no coupon required!

So if you love the new release as much as I do, you can save a lot of moolah!

And today is the start of a new challenge at Doodle Pantry as well.  You can find the details at the Doodle Pantry Blog. Just for participating in this challenge, you'll receive the new Ducky Duck digi set from Laurie - now that a great way to get a freebie!

Be sure to pay a visit to Doodle Pantry to see all the new releases and the sample projects the design team has created to inspire you!

Happy Wednesday everyone! This is an exciting day over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday because Arlana Patten, owner of SSW, has just published her 100th sketch. We're celebrating this milestone with prizes, special offers from sponsors and a blog hop too. If you've arrived here from Linda's blog you're on the right track. If not, head on over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday for the blog hop and celebration details and begin from there. We have a lot going on this week to celebrate 100 sketches and I know you won't want to miss a thing!  So let's get started ...

So you can be a big winner this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday just for playing in the challenge! I am also offering blog candy to Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge participants - see details toward the end of this post.

Here's the 100th sketch! Another fantastic sketch from Arlana. I think you'll find this one pretty simple to put together but it yields a beautiful and interesting card.

Here's a closeup of my 100th sketch card using A Day For Daisies image called "Peacock Magic". I used Copic markers and tried to capture the the flowing, layered and transparent qualities of tulle fabric which is what I envisioned a gown like this would be made of.  I added dots of glitter to add to the ethereal feel of the card. And of course, also tried to capture the colors of a peacock with a more pastel color base. I think this sweet image turned out great. Finally, the papers are from Bo Bunny.

Now to add to the Sweet Sketch Wednesday 100 sketches celebration, I am offering a little blog candy too! Here's what you have to do to be in the drawing for this prize:  Become a follower of Inklined to Stamp, leave a comment at this post - tell me there if you are a new follower, participate in the challenge this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. I will randomly draw from all the comments from followers that are left on this post by Tuesday, May 11 at midnight EDT and announce the winner Wednesday morning in my next Sweet Sketch Wednesday post.

And finally, on to the blog hop!  The order of the hop is below so you'll know where you are. Only a few more blogs to hop to from here :)  The next stop for you is to visit A Day For Daisies and leave comment there.

Shake, Shake, Shake it Up!

Happy Monday everyone! We're shaking it up a little bit this week at StampFairy with a new challenge to create shaker cards! They may look intimidating but I can tell you if I did it you can too!  This is my first shaker card ever, but it won't be the last because I love this technique! It's a really perfect way to draw attention to your image and add some fun at the same time.

My card features Lenny Happy New Year and Lenny Cupcake images from StampFairy. They were colored in Copics and cut out.  I glued the cupcake image onto a circle background for the shaker part of the card and Lenny with the balloon was glued on top of the shaker itself. I filled the shaker with seed beads that I had on hand. The papers are the "Grandma's Kitchen" collection from We R Memory Keepers - Simple Stripes, Dippity Dot and Rich Ribbon. I found these papers at my local Michael's store. The sentiment is stamped on the DP and cut out using Spellbinders' Ribbon Banners dies.

There are several tutorials out there on making shaker cards.  I followed a tutorial I found HERE at the blog Spyder's Corner which I thought was pretty easy to follow.  We also have a tutorial at StampFairy, which shows another way to create a shaker. Either way yields incredible results :)

Why don't you give it a try and enter our challenge. I can tell you that once you try this you'll do it again because it truly makes a unique card that the recepient will enjoy. I can't wait to give my shaker birthday card to a special friend. Also please pay a visit to the StampFairy challenge blog and see the other shaker cards made by the design team - then you'll get really inspired to make one of these yourself!

Thanks for stopping by today!
