Getting a Driver's License

Happy Wednesday everyone! We have a new sketch challenge for you at Sweet Sketch Wednesday today and I'm so excited about my cards I'm showcasing.

You see, my son just got his driver license and all his friends are getting them too. Way too many young guys on the road in our neighborhoods here I say, but they are excited about it and it is a milestone for them.  I found this perfect image at Digi Stamp Boutique, our sponsor this week at SSW, and it's just exactly what I needed for a few congrats cards for these boys.

Before I get into my card details, here's the new sketch to follow for our challenge this week.  Another go-together-quick type of sketch with terrific results!

I'm not surprised I found the perfect image for our new drivers at Digi Stamp Boutique - after all they have such an amazing selection of digis.  We're so lucky to have them as our monthly sponsor.  A generous prize of six digital images from Digi Stamp Boutique will go to the Grand Prize winner of the challenge this week.

This digi stamp from DSB is called "Henry Driving" and was colored with Copic markers on both cards.  I specifically shopped my local scrapbook store for the just-right papers to go with the driving theme. On this card the papers are from Doodlebug Designs' "Boys Only" collection.

Here, the papers are Bo Bunny's "On the Go" series.  On both cards my embellishments from the sketch are actual keys! I picked these up at Home Depot and was so lucky to find ones in the perfect colors to coordinate with my papers.  I tell ya the creativity moons were aligned so properly for this!  Well the cards are a bit hit so far and now I have more to make to meet the expectations of all the rest of them getting their licenses in the coming months!

Barry's Gone Fishing!

Isn't this just the cutest image?  We have a new collection of digis today at StampFairy and they are my favorites of all time.  So perfect for the guys and this one is for my brother who is a fishing freak!

The collection is called Barry Fishing and features everyone's favorite teddy.  I love the one where he's holding the worm! And look at the perfect freebie sentiment ticket that goes along with this set.

This adorable image was brought to life with Copic markers. The papers are a terrific find - Hooked on Fishing from The Paper Loft.

I followed this fab sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I love that you can use a bunch of fun papers with this design. I'm playing in their challenge this week with my Barry Fishing card.

Handmade Embellishments at Inky

Welcome back bloggers and Inky Impressions fans! We have a fun challenge starting today at the Inky Impressions Challenges blog. This week we want to see all of your handmade embellishments so put your creativity hat on and join us!

I decided to get out my crochet hook again and crochet flowers as my handmade embellishments. I am a total amateur at this so don't laugh at how they look!!! But it was fun to create these and see how they actually look like flowers - amazing luck on my part!  I used Lili's Stuffed Bunny rubber stamp from Inky Impressions and colored her with Copics. These Inky Impressions rubber stamps are so detailed and ink up beautifully. And every one of the images makes for an adorable card.  The fun papers are from Bo Bunny.

Springtime Bunnies

Happy Wednesday and welcome to a new sketch challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday! We have a quick and simple card design we're challenging you to this week and a great sponsor so let's get started shall we?

Here's this week's sketch to follow. It makes a lovely and elegant card and is a perfect way to show off a handmade flower embellishment as I did on my card.

I choose this wonderful digi called Springtime Bunnies from the Digi Doodle Shop. I just loved these sweet bunnies the minute I saw the image.  What a wonderful scene and so fun to color with my Copics. I used a Cheery Lynn Designs doily die to matte my image on and used Good Day Sunshine papers from We R Memory Keepers for the card background and handmade flower. A satin ribbon serves as the vertical panel with a MS edge punch peaking out on each side acting as the ruffled edge.

Molly Balloons

Hi everyone! Today's it's Good Friday and it's a good one indeed! I'm in Florida on vacation, the weather is great and we have a new release at StampFairy that is cute as the dickens!

Here's the new set called Molly Balloons and they're just perfect for any kind of celebration.

I colored Molly with Copic markers and used digital papers from Sweet Shoppe Designs called Yipee, including the cut-out flowers on each side of the image.  The digital kit is free - can't beat that!

Another happy Wednesday greeting to you!  I'm pretty excited about this week's challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  We not only have a great sketch for you but a wonderful assortment of Sassy Cheryl's digi stamps that we're showing off too. Let get started shall we?

April Showers

Happy Wednesday!  It's time for another Inky Impressions Challenge and our theme is April Showers this week. Create what you like with a shower theme.  With my card, I focused on the umbrella images on the patterned paper I choose to use.

I used Lili's Secret rubber stamp from Inky Impressions and colored it with Copic markers.  The papers are Echo Park and are lovely soft spring colors.

Clowning Around at Doodle Pantry

Welcome back to my second feature of the new releases at Doodle Pantry this month.  Who doesn't just love a clown? Well we have the cutest one ever called Clown Birdie just released yesterday and I adore him with his big red nose, huge clown feet and fun hair.  Any kid will love him too - perfect for all sorts of greetings and cards.

This fun new Clown Birdie set comes with outline and pre-color images, several sentiments and a couple of really fun digi papers.  Here I used the black outline image and colored it with Copic markers and added a little crystal lacquer on his nose for dimension and shine.

Umbrella Ants

Today's the start of a new release at Doodle Pantry and it's no April fool's joke! This is one terrific and huge release of digi stamps and some of the most clever and creative digis yet!  Let's get started by showcasing the digi collection that's free!

Introducing Umbrella Ants - for a limited time (April 1-24) this fabulously fun collection will be free with any purchase you make in the Doodle Pantry Store.  I adore this new set of digis. The umbrella was just calling out to me for paper piecing so that's what I did using the digi papers in another set we're releasing today called Lollipop Worm.

I also used the papers as the background on my card.  The rest of the image was colored with Copics and crystal lacquer used on the puddle of water and the raindrops to add some sparkle, dimension and realism. It's such a great effect.
