Happy Wednesday to you! We're right smack dab in the middle of the kids' spring break and today we're on the campus of Miami University of Ohio on a college tour for my son. Three universities this week - Purdue University (my alma mater), Miami University and Virginia Tech. All with really terrific engineering schools, business schools and pretty campuses. We're just at the start of a time intensive process of visiting and eventually selecting a college and he has not even concluded his junior year yet!
Let's get on with the card now that I've blabbered on enough about spring break! It's the start of a new challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday with a beautiful sketch to follow this week and a fantastic sponsor that we all love.
This sketch, created by our own Sally Dube, is a quick one to go together, shows off those pretty designer papers we're all addicted to using and has just the right touch of embellishments. I love the two papers cut on the diagonal. Great job Sally!
The fabulous Jennifer Nilsson, owner and super talented illustrator, at The Doodle Garden is generously sponsoring the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge this week. You just can't resist the darling and whimsical images she creates. The Grand Prize Winner of the challenge will receive 5 free single images from The Doodle Garden - a terrific prize. Please join us this week for a chance to win!
This adorable image from The Doodle Garden is called "Muffin Mouse" and he has the sweetest little face. I colored him with light pastel color Copics and keeping it fair and light is a challenge for me! The pretty papers are from My Mind's Eye Fiddlesticks 6x6 DP pad. The flowers from the same papers were layered with SU punches, scrunched up and held in place with single silver brads.
Now you just have to see all the other wonderful cards the design team created to inspire you using The Doodle Garden images. Such beautiful cards this week! Pop on over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday and take a peek!

Ready For The Rain
Wednesday greetings to you all! I'm posting from Washington DC today - a short but good business trip here as we received an award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Energy Star program. And now it's just a few days away from spring break vacation - can't wait for that! And I know you just can't wait for the new sketch challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday so let's get started!
This is such a fun sketch that Sally created for all of you. Don't you just love that background with the rounded piece? It's unusual but a quick and easy one to put together.
We have a new sponsor this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday and we're so lucky to welcome Paper Addictions to the challenge. Jackie Matthews is the creator of the wonderful and whimsical images you'll find at Paper Addictions. She's providing 5 digital images to the lucky Grand Prize winner of the challenge this week - yahoo a fabulous prize! Thanks for your generous support Jackie!
Here are the links to her Etsy Shop and Blog:
I chose this darling image called "KatieBug is Ready for the Rain" and thought it was such a cheerful image for spring. KatieBug was colored with Copics with some glitter added to her wings. Her flower umbrella was popped up with crystal lacquer added to the center. I used papers from MME Tangerine collection here.
Now pop on over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday and see the other Paper Addictions images my fellow team mates created with. They're all such beautiful cards - you'll get a ton of inspiration there.

Welcome Spring
Yay! Today's the first day of Spring, although you'd never guess it here in Michigan :( Temps today are sub-freezing and I am yearning for the warmth of the sun. So, I'm creating my own sunshine with my card today celebrating the start of Spring for the start of the new challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday!
Here's the challenge sketch for this week created by our own Sally Dube! I love this quick and easy sketch and I know you will too.
It's that time again for Digi Stamp Boutique sponsorship. Sally Ann is so generous in supporting Sweet Sketch Wednesday as a monthly sponsor. And that means you have a chance to win big this week as the Grand Prize winner of the challenge will receive 6 free digi stamps from Digi Stamp Boutique. You have to play to win, so get out those card making supplies and join us!
I chose this adorable chicky called Easter Squares from Digi Stamp Boutique. It was perfectly matched for the sketch this week that Sally created for the challenge. It was paper pieced with DP from Echo Park's For The Record2 collection. I thought this was a fun color combination and Spring-like without using pinks and purples.
Hop on over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday and see the wonderful cards the design team created to inspire you using Digi Stamp Boutique images. They are a terrific way to welcome in Spring today.

Poppies In Her Hair
Happy Wednesday friends and followers! We have a new sketch challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday today - a favorite sketch from the past - and a favorite sponsor this week. So let's get started....
Here's the sketch to follow. It was originally created by Arlana for week 67 and is one that we love for its splendor of embellishments and layers.
Our sponsor this week is the wonderful A Day For Daisies. I'm sure you love the images that Tammy illustrates as much as we do - they make for such beautiful cards. You'll want to play along this week because the Grand Prize Winner will receive a $12 gift certificate to spend in the A Day For Daisies shop. Thanks Tammy for your generous support of Sweet Sketch Wednesday!
This gorgeous A Day For Daisies image is "Poppy In My Hair" and she's just so lovely. It was fun to color up this beauty with Copic markers and a challenge to get the highlights and depth in her hair. I used True Love papers from Basic Grey to go along with her. The large button embellishment was adorned with ribbon using glue dots and adhesive pearls are the finishing touch.
Now pop on over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday to see the amazingly beautiful cards the design team created for your inspiration using A Day For Daisies digi stamps. You'll find a feast for your eyes there!

Basket Full of Flowers
Well we're on the home stretch to Spring and isn't that a nice thing to look forward to! I'm kicking that off with this adorable card for the new Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge starting today featuring the wonderful images from Dearie Dolls.
Here's the fun sketch for this week's challenge designed by our fabulously talented Sally! I love the banner element here that makes such a fun embellishment to this layout.
This week we have a special treat for you. Dearie Dolls digi stamps is our sponsor and these darling images are illustrated by Mary Ellen - super talented in drawing as well as writing poetry. You'll love everything you see available on her blog, including her poetry, for your card making. The best part of all, her images are FREE! Yep, you can't beat that! So because of that, you all are winners this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday! So pick an image from Dearie Dolls blog site and create a card for the challenge this week. Be sure to leave a thankful comment for Mary Ellen and let her know you found her from her Sweet Sketch Wednesday sponsorship this week.
This sweet little girl, called Basketful of Flowers, just captured my heart. She was brought to life with Copic markers and paired with papers from MME's Happier line. The butterflies adorning her here are a MS punch. I think this makes for a perfectly perky Spring card!
Head on over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday to see more of the fun and free images available at Dearie Dolls that the design team used. You'll just love what you see there!

Catching the Bugaboo
Happy Wednesday friends! Well I have to say that it's hard for me to keep up with things of late - too much going on in every facet and now I have the "bugaboo" from ignoring my sleep and nutrition (always the last consideration when things are so busy). And on the card-making front, we also have the Bugaboo over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday..... as in Bugaboo Stamps, our sponsor of the challenge this week!
Here's the sketch for the challenge - another perfectly fab layout created by our talented Sally! Nice layers on this one and embellishment placement. It just turns out terrific each time.
We all love the variety and fun images that Jodi offers over at Bugaboo Stamps. Here's your chance to add to your stock of Bugaboo images by playing along with SSW this week. The Grand Prize winner of the challenge will receive seven free digis from Bugaboo. A terrific and generous prize package! Thanks Jodi!
I chose this adorable Bugaboo stamp called Ava Swing to create with. It was colored with Copics and paired with papers from MME's Gnome Sweet Gnome collection.
Be sure to check out our design team creations over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday and please join us in the challenge this week..

Fun with Dan and his Dog
Isn't this little guy and his dog a cutie? This is my creation for the new challenge starting today at Sweet Sketch Wednesday with Digi Stamp Boutique as our sponsor.
This week's sketch is another blast from the past created by Arlana long ago in week 5 of the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenges. Can you believe that was 189 sketches ago? Wow! It's a timeless sketch and easy and fast to go together so join us won't you?
The wonderful Digi Stamp Boutique is our sponsor this week. Sally Ann, the owner, has sponsored Sweet Sketch Wednesday from Week 1 of our challenges so she'll remember this week's sketch too. The Grand Prize winner of the challenge will receive a generous prize of six free digis - fantastic motivation to play along with us this week! Thanks Sally Ann!
I choose this adorable DSB digi called Funtime Dan and he comes in a set of three digis - all of them cute as a button! They are featured as a monthly special right now at Digi Stamp Boutique. Colored with Copics and My Mind's Eye papers from my stash make this a bright, colorful card good for any occasion.
This week's samples from the design team are just so fun and inspirational. Pop on over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday and check them out. I hope to see your cards in the challenge this week!

Windy Day
Happy Wednesday friends! We have such a terrific sketch this week for the challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. And one of everyone's favorite digi stamp companies, Saturated Canary, is our sponsor so there's lots of inspiration to be shared today.
Here's our sketch created by my team mate Sally. You don't often find a triangle in card designs/layouts and I think this is so creative. I had fun creating with this one and I hope you'll give it a try and join us in the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge.
Our fabulous sponsor this week is Krista Smith, owner and illustrator of Saturated Canary. Krista's images are perfect for all occasions and are such a delight to color and create with. The Grand Prize winner of the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge this week will receive two free digi images from Saturated Canary. Thanks for the wonderful sponsorship and your generousity Krista!
I chose this delightful Saturated Canary image called Windy Day. I really wanted to try coloring the long windy hair with my Copics and think the highlights turned out pretty well here. The papers used are American Crafts' Dear Lizzy line called 5th & Frolic and I think the chevron print paper in the background works really well with the triangle theme of the sketch. I added some pearl and lace stickles droplets around the image panel to provide interest and texture and to fill in the extra white space. I stickled the flower in her hair for some dimension as well.
Please visit us at Sweet Sketch Wednesday and check out this wonderful sketch with other papers, embellishments and Saturated Canary images. You'll be inspired by the creativity of the design team this week. It would be fantastic if you joined in the challenge too!

Modern Party Dress
Happy Wednesday friends. By now, you know what Wednesday brings each week - a new challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday and you'll love the sketch this week!
Here it is! My team mate Sally did a terrific job with this one. I like the look it creates, especially with the wavy ribbon/embellie across the bottom. And with those hearts, it's perfect for your last minute Valentine cards!
Our sponsor this week is Milk 'n Coffee Stamps. The Grand Prize winner of the
Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge will receive three free digis from the Milk 'n Coffee shop. A really great prize and we're so thankful to Esmeralda and Nathaza, the owners and illustrators, for their generous sponsorship this week.
I've created my card with the Milk 'n Coffee digi stamp called "Tiffany in her Modern Party Dress". Colored with Copics and paired with My Mind's Eye "Bright Side" papers this makes a good teen girl card.
To see more cards using the sketch and showcasing the variety of images from Milk 'n Coffee Stamps, please visit Sweet Sketch Wednesday where the design Divas have some great inspiration. And don't forget to join us in the fun!
