Vintage Shoe & MMSC97

Back again for a second post today, this time featuring a Doodle Pantry image called "Fancy Shoe" that was released earlier this month. I do love creating in vintage style and this lovely image fits right in with that. You can find it in the Doodle Pantry store HERE.

And what's even better is the Midnight Madness sketch challenge this week (MMSC97) fit this image perfectly so I used the sketch for the card design. I chose the "fancy" version of the sketch.

The image was colored with Copics and distressed with Tea Dye distress ink from Tim Holtz. The papers are Crate Paper's "Emma's Shoppe" collection. I backed the scallop punched borders with ivory satin ribbon using ScorTape by scrunching and gathering the ribbon onto it down the length of each side. Then I sewed it down which helped settle the bulk and helped secure it.

You can see that the image itself was embellished with lots of "real" pearls for dimension and enhancement of the image. I imagine that real couture shoes of the period would have probably had real pearls so I thought it would add some authenticity to it too! A few other pearl embellishments and some Prima flowers finish it off.
