I'm back from vacationing in Florida - a day later than expected due to a flight cancellation so my post here for Sugar Creek Hollow is delayed a day. We ended up spending an overnight and extra day "stranded" in Charlotte, NC before our rescheduled flight out - a beautiful city that I've never been to before so it was unexpected fun too.
The challenge this week at Sugar Creek Hollow is to create a Vintage Easter card. Nothing is more Easter to me than the celebration of the ressurection of Jesus so I selected this wonderful cross as the focal point of my card.
I printed the image on vintage linen cardstock, colored it with my Copics and distressed it with Tim Holtz Stormy Sky and Antique Linen distress inks. The cardstock matched the beautiful Webster Pages digital papers that I chose. I found a wonderful vintage postcard online with an image of a woman with a trumpet lily and church window and used it layered under the digi focal panel. A lace doily, some rhinestone flourishes and a big pink silk ribbon bow finish off the card.
Please visit the Sugar Creek Hollow challenge blog to see the design team's vintage Easter inspirations and for the challenge entry guidelines. I do hope you'll play along with our challenge this week.
Thanks for stopping by!

Sharon, your colors are so soft and pretty on this card. The cross looks great with the vintage image and doily.
