Magical Mermaid

Happy Wednesday friends and followers! It's time for a new challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. This is the last challenge of the month so it's one with a TWIST this week...  mermaids and fairies.  So pick any sketch we've had in 2014 and create a card using it plus a mermaid or fairy theme.  For my card, I chose the first sketch of March #SSW2-08.

We have a new sponsor for this week's challenge... Dilly Beans Stamps

Megan Suarez is the owner and illustrator of Dilly Beans Stamps and is oh so talented. We're really excited to be using her mermaid and fairy images this week. The grand prize winner of our challenge will receive three free digi stamps from Dilly Beans.  Thanks Megan for your generous sponsorship!

This is Nina Mermaid (DB-559) from Dilly Beans and I had a lot of fun coloring her wonderful hair with Copic markers.  I glittered her up as all mermaids should be. The papers are from my stash and I apparently cut the corner with the manufacturer info on it! I like that the paper had the bronze glitter which sort of looks like seaweed and fits today's theme.

Now stop on by Sweet Sketch Wednesday for more inspiration with Dilly Beans Stamps - some gorgeous creations from my team mates this week!

Thanks for stopping by!

Quacky!

I have a quacky card today in celebration of the start of Spring this week! I really should have put some snow at this cute duck's feet because that's how we're welcoming Spring in Michigan - ugh!  But this little duck is so darn cute he can perk up any cold day.  This is your inspiration for the new challenge today at Sweet Sketch Wednesday!

Here's the fun sketch that Sally drew up for this week's challenge and it's just terrific! I hope you'll use it and join us in the fun.

And this week Sally Ann at Digi Stamp Boutique is our sponsor. We love using Digi Stamp Boutique images - they make such wonderful cards.  The grand prize winner of the challenge this week will receive a £10 voucher to Digi Stamp Boutique - a fantastic prize.  Thanks for your generous sponsorship Sally Ann!

This adorable ducky is from Digi Stamp Boutique and called "For You Quacky".  It's one of DSB's offer of the month so if you like it, buy it now at a discount :-)  I colored it up with Copic markers, used a bit of crystal lacquer on his beak and paired it with papers from American Crafts.  The flower embellishment was created using dies and a fabric brad from Stampin' Up.

So there you have it - a wacky, quacky way to usher in Spring.  Now head on over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday for a lot more inspiration with more images from Digi Stamp Boutique.

Birdie On A Wire

Well my card today with its sunny colors was intended as a sign of hope that Spring (and all the chirping birdies with it) was eminent. Apparently not so, as we are getting a dump of snow today upward of six inches. Sigh! I've had enough winter at this point and will continue to hope for signs of Spring beyond creating it on cards!

The card was created for the new challenge starting today at Sweet Sketch Wednesday with our sponsor Doodle Pantry.

Here's the fantastic sketch to follow for the challenge. I just love the "fishtails" hanging there. This is now one of my favorite sketches that Sally has developed - I'll be using it again!

We're so lucky to be sponsored by Laurie Wilson at Doodle Pantry this week. Her whimsical characters, beautiful and realistic flowers, and majestic scene images make such wonderful cards. My favorites in her collection are those silly ants and the adorable birdies!  The grand prize winner of challenge will receive a $10 gift certificate to Doodle Pantry.  Thanks Laurie for your generous sponsorship of Sweet Sketch Wednesday!

Doesn't this sweet birdie just brighten your day? It's called Birdie On A Wire and I just loved coloring him with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol for blending the colors. I like the softer look that the pencils create and it was fun to bring them out again.  The papers I used are from Lawn Fawn's Pink Lemonade collection.

Kiss From Mother

Isn't this a beautiful digi stamp? I've created this card to inspire you on the start of a new challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. We're featuring the lovely and adorable images from A Day For Daisies this week along with a great new sketch.

Here it is - I love how this sketch turns out with coordinating designer papers and embellishments. I hope you'll give it a try this week and join us in the challenge fun!
It's always a special week when we're sponsored by A Day For Daisies! I love creating with the wonderful images that Tammy offers. The grand prize winner of our challenge will receive a $12 gift certificate to A Day For Daisies - amazing prize isn't it? Thanks Tammy for your generous sponsorship!

I saw this stunning image on a card a couple weeks ago by one of the A Day For Daisies design team members and knew I had to have it for my next ADFD card!  It's called Kiss From Mother and it's perfect for mothers everywhere and on any occasion. It was colored with Copics and the papers are My Mind's Eye. I had the embellishments in my stash but on the small roses I added some pink accents with my Copics so they coordinated with the papers and colors I used.

Now you'll just have to stop over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday and see the gorgeous works of art created for your inspiration by the design team using the beautiful digi stamps from A Day For Daisies. It's a treat for your eyes!
