About Me
Winter 2012
• What's your stamping history? (How long, how'd you get into it?)
I’ve always been a crafter and dabbled in many crafting hobbies making homemade gifts and the like since I was very young. But I first got involved in stamping about 10 years ago when I was invited to a Stampin’ Up! party. A couple years later, a friend invited me into a stamp “club” that met monthly and boy did my stamp crafting really take off from there. Now I’m totally obsessed with stamping – it really is the perfect creative outlet for me.
• What's your "go-to" embellishment?
Oh my! I can’t say there’s one because there are several “have-to-haves” or I’d be lost! Consistently though, I go to my buttons and ribbons the most – probably my favorites because of my sewing hobby history. Buttons are so perky on a card, in my opinion, and the right ribbon can really dress things up.
• Have you ever been published? (if so, where/when)
I’ve not been published…yet! However, I have been recognized in several online blog challenges (Play Date Café “Cup of the Week”, “Fab 4” twice, “Cream in our Coffee” twice; Midnight Madness “Remarkables” twice; Sweet Sketch Wednesday “Top Three” once). I've been on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday design team for a couple years now and about a year and half at Doodle Pantry. I am also a past designer for Sugar Creek Hollow, By LORi Designs and StampFairy.
• What do you like to do when not stamping (as if?! LOL)
“As if” is right! So funny! I’ve had a lifelong love of sewing which is the root of my crafter soul. I enjoy reading, playing piano (used to play in church services at a small church in a summer vacation community) and spending time with my kids – my daughter is artsy and stamps with me and my son and I enjoy golfing together.
• A brief bio (hubby? kids? pets? where are you from?, etc.)
I’m from Michigan and live in West Bloomfield, a suburb in the Detroit area. I work full-time as a public relations professional in the automotive industry which can very challenging, so stamping is my way to relax from the stresses of the working world. I am blessed with two wonderful children – my son is a high school junior and my daughter is freshman – they are my pride and joy. I also am lucky to have a husband that supports my stamping addiction! We are a family of animal lovers currently with a West Highland Terrier called “Tillie Mae” and “Thumper” the rabbit that Santa delivered to our home about eight years ago. At one time, animals out-numbered humans in our house 2:1 and included cats, hamsters, a guinea pig and fish besides the dog and rabbit!
