Walking the Dogs

Happy Wednesday folks! Boy a short week is great but I'm afraid that I'm a bit turned around by it this time thinking it's Tuesday : )  Wonder how many meetings I missed yesterday at work because of my scrambled up head!!!  But I'll take Wednesday because it's time for another Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge and I'm excited to show this wonderful sketch today!

This is a fun one with all its layers. It's a perfect sketch for smaller DP prints on a larger card. And it's a good one to show off unique embellishments too. Great job Arlana!

We are so lucky to have Tiddly Inks as the sponsor of the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge this week. Christy Croll, the owner, is generously offering a $10 gift certificate for Tiddly Inks digi stamps to the Grand Prize winner of the challenge this week. Thanks Christy for the terrific prize!

And we were so lucky to get a Tiddly Inks digi stamp to create our samples with this week. I've used the image "Walk the Dogs" and it's so darn cute. The first thing it made me think of is my 12-year old daughter who loves to wear her hair straightened like this and is the one to take our Westie dog out for a walk who looks like the smaller dog in this darling image!  It's colored with Copics and it was fun to color the white dogs by just shading in gray tones.

Here's a quick picture of our Tillie Mae!  Talk about a personality - this sweetie is full of it!

I used papers from Basic Grey's "Hopscotch" collection on my card - I love these soft colors. And the special dog embellishments I used were actually buttons I found at Michael's craft store and just cut off the shanks so they would lay flat on the card. And there you have it - a perfect card for any dog lover out there!

Be sure to pay a quick visit to the Sweet Sketch Wednesday blog and see the wonderful inspiration the DT created this week with Tiddly Inks images. I hope you'll join us in the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge this week too!

Thanks for stopping by!
I'm entering my "Walk the Dogs" card in the challenge over at the Alphabet Challenge Blog where the theme this week is "D for Dogs".

Sweet Sketch Wednesday

Happy Wednesday everyone! I had so much fun preparing for this week's Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge.  Our sponsor this week is Tiddlyinks and I'm showcasing three images today from Tiddlyinks using this week's fun and versatile sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

We'd love to have you join us in the sketch challenge this week. One lucky winner will be selected as the Grand Prize winner and receive a $10 gift certificate to Tiddlyinks digital stamps!  Just make a card using this sketch and post it to the Sweet Sketch Wednesday site. Remember to add your comments at Sweet Sketch Wednesday to be qualified to win the Grand Prize and the Top Three recognition.  We love our supporters and welcome new participants. You'll love Arlana's sketches - particularly the one this week that inspired me to make three cards to showcase!

The first card uses this adorable Tiddlyinks "Penguin Hop". I love penguins and this one was irresistable to me, especially paired with my new "Flakes" paper from Crate Paper's Snowy Day Collection. I also used some leftover Cosmo Cricket "Jolly By Golly" papers from last year. The embellishment is a combination of a MS snowflake punch, Spellbinders snowflake die cut, a beaded spiral doo dag and lots of colored stickles! Isn't he a fun looking chap all glittered up?!  I thought so too!

My second sample showcases Tiddlyinks "Something Warm" snowman. Doesn't he look friendly glittered up and glistening?!

I've used the new Echo Park Paper's "Wintertime" here - it's soft blue and warm browns and reds were a perfect combination with this darling image.

And finally this sweet angel called "Watch Over Us" at Tiddlyinks makes a lovely Christmas card with her wings and halo so sparkly.

She's combined with papers from Kaisercraft's "Christmas Carnival Collection" which is shimmery and sparkly too.

Hopefully you've seen something here that prompts you to head over to our sponsor, Tiddlyinks, and check out the holiday images available there. Each of the images I've used are selling for only $1 right now.

And I know you have to love the Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch and the different looks you can achieve with it. So play along with us this week, won't you? We would love that!  Be sure to check out the other design team creations for more inspiration and samples of this sketch and Tiddlyinks images too! Links are on my left sidebar and at the Sweet Sketch Wednesday site.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

My Daughter's Birthday

I just had to share this card I made for my daughter Hilary's birthday today.  Can't believe how fast 12 years goes by - I remember the day she was born like it was yesterday!  Hilary has a passion for animals and has always been most fond of bunnies. So this digi stamp from TiddlyInks, called "Somebunny" was perfect for her card.

All the papers used here are from October Afternoon's "Thrift Shop" collection.  I thought the rabbit music sheet was a great accent. The image was colored using copics including the dotted floral pattern I added to the dress and headband to mimic the flowers in the background papers.  Distressing on the main image panel was done in "Victorian Velvet" and "Tea Dye" distress inks from Tim Holtz.

So here's to my sweet Hilary Alexandra - you've brought such joy to our lives daughter! I wish you a wonderful birthday!
