Hootie

Welcome back friends! It's the last Wednesday of the month - where did July go? At Sweet Sketch Wednesday we're closing out the month with twist in our weekly challenge - "Show us your Polka Dots".

The sketch this week is a blast from the past layout created by our own Sally Dube. For the challenge this week use this sketch with a polka dot theme and play along with us.

Our wonderful sponsor this week is Pattie Gomez, the owner and illustrator of images at Pattie's Creations. There is such a lovely selection of digi images available at her store so be sure to check it out. The grand prize winner of the challenge this week will receive two free digi images from Pattie's Creations. Thanks Pattie for your generous sponsorship!

I chose this adorable owl called Hootie by Pattie's Creations. It was colored with Copic markers and combined with fun digital papers from Raspberry Road called Whoo Loves You.

Now be sure to stop by Sweet Sketch Wednesday to see other Pattie's Creations images that the design team has used on their cards created for your inspiration.

Lemonade Cat

Happy Wednesday friends and followers! Here's my inspiration for you today as part of the new challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. I'm enjoying the summer as much as this kitty is with the warm sunny days and relaxing in the heat!

We have this fantastic sketch for you to follow in the challenge this week. I love the unique look of it - one of my favorite sketches this year. I hope it interests you too so you'll give it a try and play along with us!

We welcome back Eureka Stamps as our sponsor of this week's challenge. Oh my what a selection of digi stamps you'll find at Eureka! Everything from whimsical to lovely and lots of technique tutorials on their website. Our lucky grand prize winner will receive three free digi stamps from Eureka - a fantastic prize!

My SSW teammate Heide and I both chose this cute image from Eureka called Lemonade Cat (great minds and great friends think alike!) I have been known to slurp up my mom's delicious lemonade while stretching out in the sun on our Lake Michigan beach a time or two so it reminded me of that! This fun kitty was colored with Copics and the summery papers were remnants found in my stash from years ago.

We have a terrific selection of cards using other adorable images from Eureka Stamps over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. Stop by there and give it look and be inspired to join our challenge!

Cooling Off

I have this fun card to share with you today for the start of a new challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. It's time again for our monthly sponsor Digi Stamp Boutique and the team has a lot of terrific DSB images we're highlighting in our samples.

Here's the sketch to follow for the challenge this week. It goes together easily and has a terrific look.

Sally Ann at Digi Stamp Boutique is our sponsor this time offering our grand prize winner a £10 voucher to the DSB store.  Thanks Sally Ann for your generous sponsorship!

I chose this humorous image from DSB to create my summer fun card called Alf Cooling Off. He was fun to color with Copic markers and is a good image for guy cards. The papers are from Stampin' Up.

Now take a stroll over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday for details on how to play in the challenge this week and to see the fab cards the design team created for your inspiration.

Daffodil

Happy Wednesday!  Now that I'm relaxed from a little bit of vacation on the shore of Lake Michigan, I'm ready to jump right back to the next challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday!  We have a terrific sketch and a favorite sponsor this week so let's get going...

Isn't this a great sketch? I love how this layout that Sally created turns out in real life. Give it a try and join us this week in challenge.

We're so lucky and happy to have Heather from Fresh Brewed Designs as our sponsor for the challenge this week. Heather has such a fun shop full of wonderful digis for any card or occasion so be sure to check it out. The grand prize winner of the challenge this week will receive three free digis of their choice from Fresh Brewed Designs.  Thanks for your generous sponsorship Heather!

I chose this sweet girl Daffodil from Fresh Brewed Designs and colored her up with Copic markers. Her apron was digitally paper pieced and the card uses digi papers called County Fair designed by Sara Schmutz and purchased through www.designhousedigital.com. I love this digital paper kit!

Now head on over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday to check out the other beautiful cards created with Fresh Brewed images using the challenge sketch this week.

Watermelon Girl

Just back tonight from a trip to Purdue with my son where he is officially enrolled now for fall classes. Oh my, I wish the clock would stop! I'm not sure I'm ready for him to leave the nest yet. He'll be there for good in about six weeks and I'm trying to not think about it!

So to get my mind off that, here's my card for this week's challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday!

This is the fantastic challenge sketch to follow - I love how this layout turns out. Our Sally sure has talent in drawing these up.  Give this one a try - you'll love the result.

Dearie Dolls is our sponsor this week and Mary Ellen the owner and artist has the cutest darn digis you'll ever find. What's even more special is that Mary Ellen has an entire site of freebies here:  Dearie Dolls Freebies.  And if you can't find something there (hard to imagine) then visit her Etsy Shop Deariesbyme where there are some really special digis available.

I chose this adorable Watermelon Girl from the Dearie Dolls freebie site. I knew I had the perfect papers to match with it and watermelons and summer go hand in hand.

Now you just have to take a peek at the fabulous cards our design team made using other Dearie Dolls images. Hop on over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday for the inspiration!
