Sugar Creek Hollow - Buttons and Bows

Happy Saturday bloggers and creators! It's another Sugar Creek Hollow challenge today and I hope you'll join us in the fun this week.  Our challenge is "Buttons and Bows" which are my favorite elements to add to a card.

We'd love it if you create a card and play along in our challenge this week. We will choose one random winner, who will receive a free digi of their choice from the Sugar Creek Hollow Shoppe and a badge to display on your blog. If you use a Sugar Creek Hollow image you will get two entries in the random draw. Just follow the instructions at the Sugar Creek Hollow blog and join us in the weekly fun!

For my card design this week, I've followed Priscilla's wonderful sketch at Midnight Madness MMSC91. I'm entering this card in their challenge this week.

I thought this sketch was a perfect way to show off the new image Tracy created as part of her "Springtime in Paris" collection. You can find that collection HERE in the Sugar Creek Hollow Shoppe.

And it's obvious I thought it was a perfect sketch to incorporate the challenge theme of buttons and bows!

I paper pieced this wonderful vintage frock with digital designer papers from Sheri K Designs. I selected the papers based on their classic and vintage feel and a pattern you might have actually seen on a gown like this years ago. This image is perfect for paper piecing and using digital papers is an easy way to do that technique with digi stamps.

I also had to show a closeup of this wonderful flower button that I placed on the image - I thought it looks like it is a wonderful embellishment on the dress itself - as thought you would have seen this kind of details on dresses of yesteryear.

Now take a moment and visit the Sugar Creek Hollow blog to see all the buttons and bows that the design team is sharing this week. You'll find some incredible inspiration there in creating your Sugar Creek Hollow challenge entry!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Perfectly balanced, perfectly executed and gorgeous beyond perfect! I love your colors and that paper piecing is outstanding, it does indeed remind me of something I might have seen in an old journal or old publication. Your buttons are outstanding, especially the one you elected to place on the dress! All in all this is a real show stopper!!

This is so sweet! I love the delicate pattern on the dress. I'm not sure why but when I saw this the book/movie The Age of Innocence popped into my head. I love all of the buttons across the top and as an accent on the dress. This is so pretty! Great job with the Sugar Creek Hollow Buttons & Bows challenge as well as the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge.
