What's Up Chickie?

What's up chickie? I'm back for a second post today to show this terrific precolored image and digi papers available at Doodle Pantry.  This precolored chicken was released just earlier this month and because it's precolored it's so easy to create a quick card for a friend.

Also on the focal panel, I used two digi papers - the fence digi which comes with the chicken set and behind it is a cloudy sky digi paper that was also released earlier this month as part of the spring digi paper pack.  The brown, daisy-covered background digi paper is also part of the chicken image set. A few punched flowers and one of the sentiments that's in the set and this card is done and in the mail! You can find the Chicken digis HERE at Doodle Pantry.

Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow

Today's the start of another sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow and there is news to share to kick this off. 

First the sad news - Tracy Vinson, owner of Sugar Creek Hollow, has decided to close the Sugar Creek Hollow store effective midnight tonight and she has put a little note for her followers on the store site, which you can read by clicking here.  The good news is that she'll be keeping the Sugar Creek Hollow challenge blog open and we'll be coming back next week with some exciting changes there that we think our loyal followers will really like. So stay tuned!

Now on to this week's challenge...  It's pretty simple this week - Embossing is the challenge, either wet or dry.  So create a card using embossing and enter our challenge for a chance to win a Sugar Creek Hollow digi stamp - you'll be one of the last to get these wonderful images.

Here you can see the dry embossing I did on my card base. I did this after stamping the flourishes on the Crumb Cake cardstock. You can also see the distressing on the card using Tea Dye, Shabby Shutters and Craft Whisper White inks.

The Sugar Creek Hollow image is from the Flower of the Month series. It was printed on Crumb Cake cardstock and die cut with the Nesties Labels #17 dies. I used Copic markers to color the leaves and stems and Prismacolor pencils for the white flowers, leaf highlights and some shadowing. I like the effect of using both mediums.  The white die cut is from MFT Stamps Die-Namics and the gorgeous ribbon is Stampin Up.

Cooking Up Some Sunshine!

Hi there and happy Thursday! I'm hoping this day brings a little sunshine and hint of Spring. But if not, how about a little artificial sunshine via a fun, bright card for the day!  Today the focus is on By LORi Designs and this sweet new image from the Lollipops collection called Little Chef Girl. 

Isn't she the cutest?! I colored her with Copics and used Cosmo Cricket papers from the "Modern Homemaker" collection. Easy peasy and sure pleasy!

It's also the start of a new challenge at By LORi Designs.  This is my anything goes week at BLD so don't go by my card for the challenge colors.  Instead scroll down....

These are the challenge colors this week:  Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette, Crumb Cake and White. Swinging into Spring with Doodle Pantry

Back again today with a cute card featuring a Doodle Pantry image called "Caterpillar Swing". This was released in March and is the cutest darn thing. I finally found some time to color it up with my Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.

I wanted a little softer look for this fluffy little caterpillar and I find that the pencils provide that look the best.  I colored the image and cut it out around the outside. It was placed on a rectangle panel that was also colored in the same blue pencils. The bottom was popped up a bit to make it look like he was swinging out from the card.

You can see the dimension a little better in this photo.  I used papers from The Girl's Paperie (plaid background paper) and Three Bugs in a Rug (green polka dot paper).  The flower is handmade using the same papers and SU Daffodil cardstock.

Be My Muffin Angel - StampFairy Challenge

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter holiday. We spent the day with my folks and sister and it was so nice to be together again. Today is the start of another StampFairy challenge and I'm excited to show you this card featuring a new release of teddy bears called "Muffins".

The Muffins are sweet, adorable angels. You can find them in the StampFairy Shop.  The sentiment is a freebie, so you'll want to pop on over and grab that one when you order one of the Muffin digi stamps.

The StampFairy challenge this week is to create a card or project using three designer papers, two die cuts or punches and lots of sparkle!

You can see that I was very liberal with the sparkles on this card - after all this adorable Muffin is an angel and angels have a lot of sparkly angel dust that follow them around!  You can find it on this darling teddy's wings, on the stars and around the image and sentiment panels. I actually used three die cuts - Spellbinders Nesties Labels #20 for the image panel, #14 for the panel behind that (in plaid) and #18 for the sentiment.

Even the designer paper has some shimmer to it. I've used My Mind's Eye "Mother Meadow" from Hazel collection of the Stella and Rose series (background panel), K&Company's "Abrianna Boho Flower Toss" (purple paper) and The Girl's Paperie "Jubilee" (plaid panel behind the main image).

Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow

Happy Saturday bloggers! It's another sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow with a new challenge and a spotlight on a new image.

The Sugar Creek Hollow challenge this week is to create a card with circles - lot of them! The design team followed the sketch below but you don't have to. Just create a vintage card with circles and come play in our challenge!

I used the new Sugar Creek Hollow digi stamp named Just "Pour" You - the name was created by Elizabeth Hart in a contest a couple weeks ago. I love this elegant digi and it spoke to me in soft blue colors that I created with Copic markers. Blues and whites remind me of my mother, so I created the card today for her.

I used lace doilies and a die cut doily from MFT Stamps' Die-namics. The Happy Mother's Day digi is also from Sugar Creek Hollow.  Designer papers are from my stash and I'm afraid I don't have the name anymore. Flowers are Prima, the antique brad is Stampin' Up, the lacy border punch is Martha Stewart and the blue lace is American Crafts.

Hoppy Easter at By LORi Designs

Here's a little pre-Easter fun for you today. There's a few new images just released at By LORi Designs and this darling Lollipop Bunny is one of them. I could hardly wait to get my hands on this cutie to create a card for the BLD challenge this week.

Here are the adorable images that LORi Boyd just added and you can find them at the By LORi Designs blog. These are all part of the Lollipop collection of digi stamps.

And here are the lovely colors for the BLDC14 challenge:  Regal Rose, Soft Sky, Pear Pizzazz and Barely Banana. I adore this color combination - perfect for Spring cards.

This Lollipop Bunny was colored with Copics. The coordinated combination of papers was selected from The Girls' Paperie "Jubilee" collection. And that's about it - you don't need much more with BLD images - they're so adorable they sort of stand on their own.

Super Birdie!

I've been so excited for the new release at Doodle Pantry today to show you this darling Super Birdie! What a terrific image that's perfect to use for guys and gals alike. This wonderful new set features line drawings and precolored images plus eight sentiments and three digi papers! How can you resist that deal?

On my card I used all three of the new coordinating digi papers. I love using digi papers - if what you've cut doesn't work, just print out more and start over! Fortunately this time I didn't have to do reprints because instead of experimenting with the layout I worked from The Sweet Stop sketch #104 for the design of my card. I'm entering this card in The Sweet Stop challenge this week which is the sketch and with a "spin" to incorporate "winged things" in the card. Well, my Super Birdie certainly adds the winged things!

This release, Laurie has made some wonderful changes and is offering bundle savings on the new releases.  If you purchase these three digi sets in the new release you'll save about 25%. How can you resist getting more for less?!!  Please see the Doodle Pantry site for the details on this new bundled set offer!
