Creating with Doilies

Happy Saturday! It's another sensational Saturday at the Sugar Creek Hollow challenge blog. Today starts a new, terrific challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow that all you vintage cardmakers will like and we have a new challenge sponsor this week which is exciting too.

Our challenge to you this week is to create a card or paper project using doilies.  They can be purchased, as I've used, or diecuts. Just remember to create in vintage, shabby chic or primitive styles in keeping with the theme of our challenge blog.

Our new sponsor this week is Glitterbabe's and Steph, the owner, is generously providing a $10 gift certificate to her digi stamp store to the randomly selected winner of the challenge this week.  The design team will also select a "Card of the Week" and that winner will be in the running for a guest designer position at Sugar Creek Hollow.  So a couple of ways to win in our challenge!

The design team was lucky to receive Glitterbabe images this week to create our cards.  I've used the "Baby Bonnet" image that you can find here.  It was colored with Copics, the image panel distressed with inks and mounted on the beaded ovals diecut from Spellbinders. The paper doilies were also aged with distress inks. The background paper is from Webster Pages' "Lullaby Lane" collection.

I also incorporated the sentiment that comes with the Baby Bonnet image which is such a sweet saying. The rattle embellishment was a button I found at a local craft store.

If you want to see more Glitterbabe's images and get some inspiration for the doily challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow, just visit the Sugar Creek Hollow Challenge Blog. You'll love what you see there!

Thanks for stopping by!

This is so sweet. The bonnet reminds me of Little House On the Prairie! The paper is so perfect with the image. Great card!

Sharon, isn't this the sweetest image ever? You have made it up so vintage and sweet. Those tiny pearls are the perfect touch for this sweet card.
