Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow

It's another sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow and the start of a new challenge for the week. We've been getting so many wonderful and creative entries in our challenges over the past several weeks and we are just loving it! I find a lot of inspiration from all of you that play in the Sugar Creek Hollow challenges week after week.

This week we are challenging you to create a card using the technique Paper Piercing.  Remember to create your card in vintage, shabby chic or primitive styles to qualify for the winning prize.

Our sponsor of this week's Sugar Creek Hollow challenge is Phindy's Place.  We were so fortunate to receive Phindy's Place digi stamps for the design team samples this week. The lucky winner of the challenge will receive a gift certificate for free images at Phindy's Place - a terrific prize you won't want to miss!

Here's a closeup of this wonderful image from Phindy's Place called "Birds Go By".  I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils because I want to achieve a softer and more faded look here. I tore the edges of the main image panel and distressed them using Tim Holtz Tea Dye and Old Paper ink.  My paper piercing surrounds the main image panel and can also be found on the blue panel too.

Here's a little closer look at the paper piercing technique used on this card.  The DP on the background panel is from Scribble Scrabble "Nana's Trunk" collection.

I hope you'll play along in our paper piercing challenge this week at Sugar Creek Hollow. Take a look at the Sugar Creek Hollow challenge blog and see the inspiration we're providing to get you started!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Gorgeous card. I love the torn edges on the beautifully coloured image and then the distressing makes it look like you have added another torn layer behind it. The little lace bow is such a pretty addition.
Hugs!

This is wonderful. Your paper piercing is so great around the edges. I love the tearing too. What a great way to showcase the image.
