From Trash to Vintage Treasure

Happy Saturday everyone!  It's another new challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow that will become a regular monthly theme and I'm excited to introduce it to you today.  Every first Saturday of the month, our challenge at SCH will be "Trash to Vintage Treasure". But there's a bit of twist on this...

We want you to to recycle, reuse or repurpose something other than scraps of designer paper in your stash.  This monthly challenge is intended to stretch our imaginations and creativity and be focused on the GREEN, environmental good.  The Sugar Creek Hollow design team has some terrific examples for what this challenge is about so head to the SCH blog and take a look there for some inspiration.

So are you wondering what in the world did I recycle on my card today?  Where here it is - a jewelry catalog that was in the recycle bin.  As I was scrummaging through garbage pails and recycle bins, this catalog caught my eye in a totally different way. I thought what interesting, elegant and colorful backgrounds these photographs would be.  So I repurposed one of the catalog pages for the background of my card today.

Here is a closeup - you can see the background is a photo of several bracelets. I love the pop of color here and there from the bracelet in the center.  I added my sentiment, a sheer organza ribbon and some rhinestone flourishes and that's all this card needed to stand out.  And all it took was looking at that catalog in a whole new way.  I can't wait to see what you create from recycled or repurposed goods. Give it a try!

Thanks for stopping by today!

OK, you got me on that one because I could not imagine for the life of me what was a recycled item. The catalogue pages are a great idea and give wonderful pops of colour.
Hugs!

See what I mean about being creative....love this background, it's like one of those books that you have to look at to see the image and when you do it just pops. Great job this week and love the sentiment.

You didn't have me fooled (or my daughter) for one second! We knew that was Brighton the instant we saw it. Very cool idea!! We're big fans! I own a ton of it. It makes Christmas shopping easy on my husband. I love the whimsical look your card has and the turquoise really makes everything pop. Great card!!
