Watermelon Girl

Just back tonight from a trip to Purdue with my son where he is officially enrolled now for fall classes. Oh my, I wish the clock would stop! I'm not sure I'm ready for him to leave the nest yet. He'll be there for good in about six weeks and I'm trying to not think about it!

So to get my mind off that, here's my card for this week's challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday!

This is the fantastic challenge sketch to follow - I love how this layout turns out. Our Sally sure has talent in drawing these up.  Give this one a try - you'll love the result.

Dearie Dolls is our sponsor this week and Mary Ellen the owner and artist has the cutest darn digis you'll ever find. What's even more special is that Mary Ellen has an entire site of freebies here:  Dearie Dolls Freebies.  And if you can't find something there (hard to imagine) then visit her Etsy Shop Deariesbyme where there are some really special digis available.

I chose this adorable Watermelon Girl from the Dearie Dolls freebie site. I knew I had the perfect papers to match with it and watermelons and summer go hand in hand.

Now you just have to take a peek at the fabulous cards our design team made using other Dearie Dolls images. Hop on over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday for the inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by!

Such a cutie of a card Sharon. Love your papers. You're right, they go perfect with your image. I went thru last year sending my son off to college. Though I missed having him around, talk about a major decrease in laundry and groceries!!!! Hugs.

Sharon I know how you're feeling with your son leaving home. You can now imagine how I felt when I sent my 11 year old and 10 year old to boarding school it was heart renching but I knew it was for the best and for a better education. I also knew that they were coming home every weekend. My little one is turning 13 this month and last weekend he stayed in at Boarding School as he had a Chess tournament on, I'll be picking him up on Friday afternoon as he'll on two week school break. He rang last night saying he can't wait to get home as he's missed us so much. I can't wait to see him as well. Remember your son isn't that far away or in another country.

Where dose the time fly...I will be in your shoes this time next year. Nick is going to do great, you and Jim have done your job and now it is up to Nick to use all the things that your two have taught him. He is just going to blossom when he is at Purdue.
Your card is darling as always.
Big hugs, Heide
