Cherry Bliss

Just a quick post this Monday early morning with a card for StampFairy.  This cheery cherry card is a congratulations card for a friend of my daughter.  I've used Lenny Ice Cream - I love this image! - and papers from Raspberry Road called Cherry Bliss. Such a fun combination of papers I think!

Here's a closeup of this adorable Lenny.  You can find this image by following this link to the StampFairy Shop.

Just a little closeup of the button cherries using a leaf punch from Martha Stewart, my stylus to add the veining and a bit of darker ink sponged on the edges for some depth.

And last but not least, the fun sentiment that is so perfect with this theme.

Because my card has buttons on it, I'm entering this card in the Totally Papercrafts Challenge #83 "Cute with Buttons".

I hope you've found some inspiration here today - thanks for stopping by!

Sunflowers at Sugar Creek Hollow

Happy Saturday folks! It's a sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow and we have a great challenge for you this week.  Create a vintage or shabby chic card using Sunflowers images and theme.  I love sunflowers for their warm colors and the signal of late summer and early fall that they send.  So I can't wait to see what you all come up with.
The Sugar Creek Hollow design team has some amazing cards to show off the Sunflower theme this week, so please take a look at the Sugar Creek Hollow blog to see their beautiful work - it will surely be an inspiration to you.
We will randomly select a winner of the Sunflower challenge who will receive a $15 gift certificate to The Funkie Junkie's Boutique on Etsy.  The owner, Linda Coughlin, is an expert of creating cards in the vintage/shabby chic style and has some wonderful things in her Etsy Shop.  Linda is also joining us as a guest designer today.  Her work can be seen here at the Funkie Junkie blog.

This lovely sunflowers are a Hero Arts stamp that I've had for a while.  They were colored with Copics and Stickles added to the centers.  The papers are all from Creative Imaginations. I used the Italian Flourish doily die from Cheery Lynn Designs just behind the image.
I hope this has been an inspiration for you to create your vintage card with sunflowers.  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

New Birthday Kids at StampFairy

Happy Friday everyone!  I'm glad to see the end of the week finally.  For being a short one, this week has seemed to just go on and on and on.  So I'm looking forward to my weekend - how about you?

Well we have a wonderful new release at StampFairy to get our Friday started.  This adorable new collection is called "Birthday Kids" and the digis are just terrific.

Here's the collection released today.  You can find these at the StampFairy Shop.  The Happy Birthday ticket is today's freebie and I know you'll use that again and again!

Here's a closeup of the freebie. I digitally paper pieced with papers from Raspberry Road.  I just love the look of ticket sentiments on cards - don't you?

Here a little closer picture of the image. You can see I paper pieced her top, skirt and balloon with papers that match the rest of the card.  They are all from Raspberry Road, called Barnyard Blowout.  I did a lot of stitching on this card which is a fun finishing touch with these papers.

Be sure to head on over and see the design team creations at StampFairy World today - some great inspiration there.

Moochas Gracias - SSS124

A quick post today to show my Moochas Gracias card - its a thanks for a co-worker who baked a gazillion molasses cookies for my birthday last week. They were absolutely delicious and of course my favorite.  They went pretty quick once I brought them home!

I followed the sketch at The Sweet Stop challenge blog and am entering this card in the challenge this week.

This is the adorable Betsy the cow - it's from StampFairy and you can find her in the StampFairy Shop HERE.  Betsy was colored with Copics and the card put together with digital papers from Raspberry Road.  The simple sentiment on the inside says "Moochas Gracias".  I know he'll get a kick out of this card.

Join me tomorrow when I show you the new release of digi stamps from StampFairy.  They're wonderful and you won't want to miss that.  In the meantime, thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Sketch Wednesday with StampFairy

Today is my favorite combination of things - Sweet Sketch Wednesday and StampFairy combined!  Yep that's right, StampFairy is the sponsor of the challenge this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday and we have lots of fun cards with the new sketch to show you so let's get started....

Here's this week's sketch to follow.  It's a repeat/repurpose of week 49 - one of our followers' favorite sketches and I can see why.  It's a great one for showing off your papers and image of choice.

And StampFairy is the sponsor this week.  The Grand Prize winner of the challenge will receive four digi stamps of their choice from StampFairy.  Now that's a prize worth playing for!

The StampFairy image I selected is from the Lenny Father's Day collection that you can find at the StampFairy Shop.  I colored this sweet bear with Copics.  The papers are from October Afternoon's Campfire collection.

I just love the embellishment on my card using these adorable fish.  They are rubber stamps from my stash that I cut out after coloring with Copics.  I think they're the perfect finishing touch to this cute card.

Now stop on by the Sweet Sketch Wednesday blog and see the rest of the design team creations.  We have a new member on our team starting today - it's Michelle Lancaster and please give her a warm welcome by leaving lots of love for her at her blog.  We're so happy to have her join us with her amazing creativity.

Thanks for stopping by!

Quirky Bat

Welcome back for another look at the new releases at Doodle Pantry this month.  This adorable Quirky Bat is part of the new digi collections just released yesterday and I think he's just the cutest.  Even with his little fangs he still looks pretty harmless to me.  You can find the new releases, including this little darling, at the Doodle Pantry Store.

You'll want to hurry on over to the store to take advantage of the Labor Day sale going on now through September 7th.  You get an additional 30% off any of the digi collections - just use the code LABORSPL when you checkout.

And there is a special bundle price for several of the new release collections and one of the new sets, Spooky Wreath, is free with any purchase this month.

So hurry on over to take advantage of this great deal!

For my card featuring Quirky Bat, I colored it with Copics and cut him out and popped him up on the digital papers I used from Shery K Designs Halloween digi paper pack. The sentiment "Hang in There" comes with the new Quirky Bat digi set along with four others, a colored version of the bat and two coordinating digital papers.  Quite a deal if you ask me!

And a new challenge is up at the Doodle Pantry Blog.  We're going to one challenge a month but selecting two winners each time.  Create a card using a Doodle Pantry image (except no sentiments) and enter to win a gift certificate at the Doodle Pantry Store

The extra bonus is that everyone that enters the challenge this month will receive this new "Popsicle Ants" digi set for free - just for playing along at Doodle Pantry! Now that's a deal worth playing for!

Now I've given you several reasons today to join in the fun at Doodle Pantry. I do hope you'll browse the store and spend some time playing along in our monthly challenge. We love seeing what you create with these wonderful images that Laurie Wilson creates.

Cleverly Disguised at Doodle Pantry!

Happy Monday everyone! Today is the September release of new digi collections at Doodle Pantry and there are a lot of fun and creative images for you this month.  Starting with this hysterical new set called "Funny Disguise".  Oh what fun you'll have with this set - it comes with two images and five clever sentiments.

The first of my projects with the "Funny Disguise" set is this card.  I colored the image with Copics and cut it out and then placed clear acetate for the lenses of the glasses.

I love this sentiment - isn't it just perfect with this set?  And what a fun guy card this new set makes too.

Here is my other project which was the first thing that came to mind when I saw this new set.  A stick mask - and just in time for your Halloween party planning.  I just simply sized this large enough to fit my face and attached it to a small stick that you can get at any craft store.  My kids had fun with this all day and I think there's a couple Facebook profile pictures that now feature this new Doodle Pantry image!

You really have to visit the Doodle Pantry Store to see the other creative projects that my fellow Creative Team members thought up - they're a lot of fun too!  And check out all the other new releases too - you'll love what you see today at Doodle Pantry.  I'll be back again tomorrow showcasing another one of the new release collections so until then....

From Trash to Vintage Treasure

Happy Saturday everyone!  It's another new challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow that will become a regular monthly theme and I'm excited to introduce it to you today.  Every first Saturday of the month, our challenge at SCH will be "Trash to Vintage Treasure". But there's a bit of twist on this...

We want you to to recycle, reuse or repurpose something other than scraps of designer paper in your stash.  This monthly challenge is intended to stretch our imaginations and creativity and be focused on the GREEN, environmental good.  The Sugar Creek Hollow design team has some terrific examples for what this challenge is about so head to the SCH blog and take a look there for some inspiration.

So are you wondering what in the world did I recycle on my card today?  Where here it is - a jewelry catalog that was in the recycle bin.  As I was scrummaging through garbage pails and recycle bins, this catalog caught my eye in a totally different way. I thought what interesting, elegant and colorful backgrounds these photographs would be.  So I repurposed one of the catalog pages for the background of my card today.

Here is a closeup - you can see the background is a photo of several bracelets. I love the pop of color here and there from the bracelet in the center.  I added my sentiment, a sheer organza ribbon and some rhinestone flourishes and that's all this card needed to stand out.  And all it took was looking at that catalog in a whole new way.  I can't wait to see what you create from recycled or repurposed goods. Give it a try!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Halloween at StampFairy

We're celebrating Halloween today at StampFairy with a new release of adorable digi stamps that I know you'll love as much as I do.  Once again, the adorable Barry Bear is featured only this time he dressed up in his Halloween costumes.  I'm featuring him here in his ghost attire!  Instead of a card today, I've used this clever casket box and decorated it with the new digi and a couple freebies that are available at StampFairy - perfect for your Halloween cards and projects.

Here's the collection released today.  I especially like the ghost and Barry's pumpkin costumes! The "Boo" digi is the freebie today.  You can find this adorable selection of digis at the StampFairy Shop.

Here's a bit closer look at this cute image. It was colored with Copic markers, cut out and glittered up a bit to add a little fun to my casket box. This ghost just cracks me up! You can tell he's a friendly ghost!

And isn't this just the perfect "Boo" to go with these Halloween images? I tried to gradiate the color from orange to golden yellow as I colored it.  It has also been enhanced with sparkly glitter.

Be sure to take a look at the other cards and projects the StampFairies have created for you using these new release images today. You can find the inspiration at Gerda's StampFairy World blog.
