Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow
Welcome to another Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow! I know it's August and has been so hot in so many areas but now it's time to cool things down and think Christmas this week.
Our challenge is to create a Vintage Christmas card. We want you to put away your cute images and find a vintage Christmas image in your craft room or online. For this challenge you also need to get out your most vintage papers and embellishments and have fun distressing - just generally making your card look old and vintage!
You can see on my vintage Christmas card I did a lot of distressing with inks and by scruffing up the edges of my card stock. I used a really old Christmas stamp from Stampin Up! (Old Fashioned Christmas) and added a touch of color with Prismacolor pencils - just enough color to make it look faded from age. The doily die cut is Spellbinders Parisian Motifs - I love this die. A little vintage lace and the card is complete.
Now take a look at the Sugar Creek Hollow design team vintage creations - you'll be inspired.

Garden Goblins at StampFairy
Happy Friday! Another wonderful end to the week. Another start to the weekend. Another adorable release of new digis at StampFairy! It all makes for a terrific day, doesn't it?!!
Introducing the new selection of StampFairy Garden Goblins. These darling digis can be found HERE at the StampFairy Shop. Note that the mushrooms in the bottom right hand corner are this week's freebie and can be found with this collection at the link above. I combined the freebie with the garden goblin digi to create the full image used on my card this week.
When I first saw this adorable goblin, I thought instantly of paper piecing those wonderful mushrooms. So that's what I did here using a variety of DP from Cosmo Cricket, Crate Paper and My Mind's Eye. The little goblin and snail were colored with Copics, cut out and popped up with foam tape. A little ribbon, a few buttons and gold half-rounds and we have a cute card for any occasion.
Take a minute or two and visit StampFairy World where you'll find more of these little goblins on the design team cards.

On the Beach
Happy Wednesday everyone! I'm back from a short vacation at the beaches of Lake Michigan feeling refreshed and relaxed and ready for the new challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday! So how appropriate is this card this week?! We had such a great time in the summer sun of Michigan. And the fun continues with this great sketch.
Here's the sketch to follow - just fabulous and fun to put together!
Our sponsor this week is Sassy Cheryl's - such wonderful images to create with. Cheryl is providing a $5 gift certificate to the Grand Prize winner of Sweet Sketch Wednesday #114.
I was so lucky to get this terrific image from Sassy Cheryl's to create my card. It's called "On the Beach". It resembles my kids looking for all sorts of interesting things on the beach this past week! I colored this darling image with Copics and used crystal lacquer to add shine on the water spot. The papers are digital from Shery K Designs "Hana" paper pack. The doily looking diecut is Spellbinders' Parisian Motifs.
I hope you'll join us at Sweet Sketch Wednesday this week - we love the wonderful inspiration and creativity of our loyal followers and participants each week. Please be sure to stop by and see the design team cards this week - you'll love the inspiration they provide too.

New Releases at Doodle Pantry!
Oh happy Friday! Today is the day for new releases at Doodle Pantry and it's a whopper of a release this month. Tons of new digi stamp sets that your mouth will water over! I'm so excited to preview a couple of the new sets for you here today.
First up is Vintage Auto - a wonderful digi set that you'll find perfect for masculine cards as I've created here. The set includes four digi images, eight sentiments and three digi outline papers that you can use to create your own backgrounds. Colored digital papers are also available in the release today that coordinate with this set.
This is the feature image in the Vintage Auto set. It was colored with Copics and additional shading with Primacolor pencils. The papers used here are from My Mind's Eye "Hattie" collection. I created this card for a dear friend at work that is a collector of all vintage car things.
Now changing themes... a perfect set for the back-to-school season...
This new collection is called School Sheep and comes in pre-colored images, black and white line drawings and features ten sentiments.
It's a fantastic set of digis for a variety of teacher gifts or school-related crafting projects.
I used the School Sheep pre-colored digis to create this memo pad cover as a "welcome back to school" teacher gift. Featured on this project are a set of coordinating digital papers also being released today at Doodle Pantry.
And these projects I'm showing today are only two of the new sets in the Doodle Pantry release today. There are a total of 11 new digi stamp sets and four digi paper collections in the release. You'll want to rush on over to the Doodle Pantry Store now to see them all! You'll find many samples there showcasing the new release images by the Doodle Pantry Creative Team. You can also find some of these creations at the Doodle Pantry blog. You won't want to miss the inspiration you'll find there!

Beary Cute
I just can't believe it's the last day of July. The summer is whizzing by faster than I'd like. The only thing I want to pass quickly is this week because I'm going on vacation - up north to Lake Michigan for a little beach and sun time. I'm looking forward to that. In the meantime, I've created this card using a terrific sketch and an adorable Doodle Pantry image.
I decided to use this interesting Sketch by Carly - the first time to play in her sketch challenge. I love how unique this is so I decided to give it a try. You can find Carly's site HERE.
This adorable bear is from Doodle Pantry and is from a set called Beary Cute. I've used the pre-colored version that comes in the set that is HERE in the Doodle Pantry Store. The papers are from Prima's Paisley Road collection. It all adds up to a fun and cheery card - perfect to end the month on!

Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow
Happy Saturday! Today is the start to another sensational challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow. This week we're challenging you to create your own designer paper using stamps or other unique treatments. No purchased scrapbook or designer papers - just what you can create on your own. And of course, create a card in a vintage or shabby chic style.
My card was created with background paper that I created by stamping on kraft-color cardstock using Papertrey Ink's "Damask Designs" stamps. I also created the paper with the swirls using PTI's "Fancy Flourishes" stamps.
The main image panel features a Hero Arts image called "Bird Collage" also stamped in black ink on kraft cardstock that was tattered and then distressed with tea dye and old paper distress inks. A few pearls, a fabulous stripe ribbon and it's complete.
Won't you join us this week in the "create your own designer paper" challenge? You'll have fun giving it a try. Stop on by the Sugar Creek Hollow blog and see the design team creations for a little inspiration - you'll be glad you did!

Well it seems we're celebrating winter in July at StampFairy today with the release of this cute new character and winter image collection. Lady in Green - Sweet Sketch Wednesday
Welcome to another Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge. We have a fabulous sketch and wonderful sponsor for this week's challenge so let's get right to it!
Here's the sketch that Arlana created and I think it's gorgeous. What a unique look and it really makes for a stunning card.
The challenge this week is sponsored by A Day For Daisies - one of my favorite digi stamp companies. The Grand Prize Winner of the challenge this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday will receive a $12 gift certificate to the A Day For Daisies shop.
This gorgeous image from A Day For Daisies is called "Green Lady" - so of course I had to color her in green! I used Copic markers for that and then sponged a very pale pink ink in the background to make her pop. I used lime green Stickles on the flower centers and drops of her beautiful headress.
The papers are from Basic Grey - Kioshi and Marjolaine - and that's what I used on the handmade flower too. The lace was originally white but I colored it with Copics to match the colors in the image. Some rhinestones and a rhinestone brad for the flower center are the finishing touches.
To see more images from A Day For Daisies used with the fabulous sketch this week, please visit the Sweet Sketch Wednesday blog. There's a lot of inspiration there from our design team you'll not want to miss!
