Bubble Bath

Today is the last Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge of the month and that means there's a twist to the challenge this week.  First of all, you get to pick any sketch we've used so far this year and then create a card in a monotone color scheme.

Here's the sketch I choose to use:

This was the featured sketch on January 15 - SSW2-03

We're so thrilled to be sponsored this week by Heather Ellis Digi Stamps, featuring her wonderfully adorable Digi Stamp Characters. Heather will be awarding our grand prize winner three free digi images. Thank you Heather for your generous sponsorship of our challenge this week!

I'm featuring one of Heather Ellis' Pure Innocence images (number 015). I love this sweet girl in her bubble bath. She was brought to life with Copic markers. I added crystal lacquer to her bubbles and a bit of sparkle with a glitter pen.  The papers are from Authentique.

Now stop by Sweet Sketch Wednesday and see the other monochromatic cards the design divas created with Heather Ellis Pure Innocence digi stamps. They are all adorable!

In The Garden

I'm sharing a fun card today for the start of a new challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. I'm trying to focus on a more spring-like theme this week to forget all the snow and cold we've been having. Wishful thinking on my part - eh?

Here's the sketch to follow for the challenge this week. I love the horizontal oval - perfect for those wider images.

Digi Stamp Boutique is our sponsor this week and we always love to create with the images Sally Ann offers in her shop.  The grand prize winner of the challenge will receive a  £10 voucher to Digi Stamp Boutique - a fantastic prize package!  Thanks Sally Ann!

I choose this fun image called "In The Garden-Veggies" from Digi Stamp Boutique.  It was colored with Copic markers and I popped up several of the elements to add dimension to the image panel. The papers used here and embellishments are from Stampin' Up.

The design team has created some wonderful cards to inspire you for this week's challenge. Be sure to stop by Sweet Sketch Wednesday to take a peek.

Bear Love

Happy Wednesday friends and followers. It's another travel week - this time in Washington DC. Hoping I get out tomorrow as they're gearing up for a big dump of snow here. I have plenty of snow waiting for me at home - don't need to experience it in a visiting city!

Today we have a new challenge starting at Sweet Sketch Wednesday so let's get started...

Here's the fun sketch for the week.  I love the hexagon shape as the focus and the nice balance of embellishments. Here's my tip if you don't have a hexagon shape die.  Take the sketch image above, resize it larger to fit your image. Print out the sketch and cut out the hexagon and use it to trace around your image. You can cut the straight lines on your paper cutter but it will come out proper with all equal sides. This is what I did for my card since I don't have a hexagon die.

Pattie Gomez of Pattie's Creations is sponsoring our challenge this week. We love all the fun images she has created and enjoy creating card samples with her wonderful images. The grand prize winner of the challenge this week will receive two free images from Pattie's Creations.  Thanks Pattie for you sponsorship!

I created my card with "Bear Love With Balloons" from Pattie's Creations and I think he has the most loveable and goofy look to him. It's all in the eyes. He just cracks me up. This darling bear was brought to life with Copic markers. The Valentine papers were from my stash and as I'm posting this away from my craft room, I can't remember what company they're from - sorry!

Now for additional inspiration, go on over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday and see all the Valentine inspired cards we have created using a variety of images from Pattie's Creations.

Heart Mouse

Well I'm a day late in posting the new challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday... That's what I get for work travel this week and thinking I would be home in time to post. Had my days messed up! UGH. Well here it is and you're going to like the new sketch.

Isn't this a great one - so interesting but not complicated to put together.  I hope you'll give it a try and join us in the fun this week!

Everyone's favorite digi stamp company is our sponsor this week! Welcome back to Bugaboo Stamps and Jodi the owner.  The grand prize winner of the challenge will receive 7 free digis worth $21. Such a generous sponsorship and we're so thankful for Jodi's support.

I chose this sweet thing from Bugaboo called "Heart Mouse" and she's such a cutie pie. This makes for a terrific Valentine card.  She was colored with Copic markers and the papers here are Bo Bunny.

Now pop on over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday and see the wonderful collection of cards the design team created to inspire you.

Bundle of Dreams

Hi friends and followers! I have to say I am fed up with the below freezing temperatures and the snow here in Michigan. Two hour commutes to work and back seem to be the standard course now and so many snow days off school for the kids means they'll probably be in school until the end of June. Ugh!

Well, it really makes me enjoy my crafting time as a special release from all that. And I have a darling card to share today in the new challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday with a new sponsor, Sami Stamps.

What's this - four sketches????  Yes, we have a new twist to our challenges now.  The last challenge of the month you get to pick your favorite sketch to create with from all the sketches that month which are shown above.  And to go with that, we will have a little TWIST to the challenge, or theme to be followed.  This week the TWIST is to do paper piecing on your image.  Isn't that fun?!

Our new sponsor this week is Sami Stamps. Delightful and whimsical stamps illustrated by Sami Siemers Ratliff, the owner.  We are so thrilled to showcase Sami's images this week.  The Grand Prize Winner of the challenge will receive a $12 gift certificate to Sami Stamps. Thanks Sami for your generous sponsorship of our challenge.

I chose this beautiful baby image from Sami Stamps called Bundle of Dreams. We've had a slew of pregnancies at work and this was perfect for a special lady expecting a little girl.  I digitally paper pieced the cradle blanket and the baby's outfit with papers from Sheri K Designs Cherry Blossom collection. The background papers are also from the same digital collection.  The rest of the image was colored with Copic markers. The flowers were hand crafted using a diecut from MFT and the sprigs with a MS punch.

So there you have it - one of my favorite cards now for 2014!  Now stop on by Sweet Sketch Wednesday for more inspiration on the challenge this week from my super talented team mates.

Happy Meal

Welcome back friends! I have a fun card for you today to kick off the weekly challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2. We have Fresh Brewed Designs as our sponsor this week.

This is a great sketch designed by our own Sally Dube. I really like the along horizontal image panel - there are so many stamps that this design will work for.

We're so happy to have Fresh Brewed Designs back as a sponsor this week. We just love the fun images that Heather Dennis creates there. The grand prize winner of the challenge will receive three free digis from Fresh Brewed. Thanks for your generous sponsorship Heather!

I choose this fun image called So Happy Happy Meal to create my inspiration for you today.  I thought this image was terrific for anniversary or even Valentines Day cards. After all, Valentines cards don't have to be in pink!  I colored the image with Copic markers and used designer papers from My Mind's Eye.

I hope you join us in the challenge this week. The design team has some fantastic cards to inspire you over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 so head on over and take a look!

Tweet Couple

It's that time again friends - a new challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 starting today and we're just itching for you to join us in the fun.  We have a great sketch for you this week and Digi Stamp Boutique as our sponsor with a terrific prize package.  Let's get started....

Here's the fun sketch for the week designed by our new Sweet Sketch Wednesday leader, Sally Dube.  I love how this sketch looks in real life with bright, fun designer papers.

We're so thankful that Sally Ann at Digi Stamp Boutique has continued her monthly sponsorship of Sweet Sketch Wednesday as we transitioned to Sally's ownership.  We all love to create with DSB images each month.  And as before, Sally Ann is very generous in the prize she offers our challenge winner - the grand prize package to the winner is a £10 voucher to the Digi Stamp Boutique store.

I chose to showcase this adorable new stamp from Digi Stamp Boutique's "Tweet Hearts Collection". It comes with several images and sentiments and is perfect for those Valentine and wedding cards.  These little tweethearts were colored with Copic markers and I used a glitter pen throughout to add a bit of sparkly magic to the image.

Now head on over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 and see the other adorable cards from the talents of the design team - such inspiring and creative works there that will get you excited about entering our challenge this week!

Tulip Fairy

Happy Wednesday friends! We have a terrific sketch this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 and a sponsor we haven't had in a while so I'm excited to get started - shall we?!

I love how this sketch turns out in real life.  Just looking at it it seems a bit plain but use some designer pattern papers, a digi stamp that fills out the circle and you have a really interesting card.  I hope you'll give it a try this week.

It's been a long time since we've featured The Stamping Boutique as our sponsor and we're thrilled this week that Tracy Malinowsky, the owner and illustrator of the images, has agree to sponsor our challenge. You will love the darling images at The Stamping Boutique. The grand prize winner of the challenge will receive three free images and if you use a digi stamp from The Stamping Boutique on your card and also win, you will receive four free images!  What a fun way to encourage your use of The Stamping Boutique images! Thanks Tracy for your generous sponsorship!

I chose this sweet, pretty stamp called Tulip Fairy from The Stamping Boutique. It fits the sketch this week to a tee! It was colored with Copic markers and the papers are some of my favorites in my stash from American Crafts. I liberally used a glitter gel pen on all the little dots, sparkle stars and etc on this stamp so this is quite magical looking in real life.

Now, head on over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 and see the fabulous creations the design team created for your inspiration and then join us in the challenge this week!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all my friends and followers!

I can't think of a better way to start the year than a new challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday :)  We have a new owner of the weekly sketch challenges - our own Sally Dube has taken over for Arlana after her many years at the helm and creation of our challenge site.  We will miss Arlana and her sketches and we'll miss her sister Judi who coordinated everything and kept us all organized!  But we have such great talent and leadership with Sally that I know you'll enjoy the challenges to come as you have in the past.  Click here for the new challenge site:  Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2  Be sure to bookmark it in your favorites too.

And here it is - the first sketch of the new year and Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2!  It a great sketch that looks fantastic. I really like how the diamond shape looks, especially with the embellishments on each side.

Our sponsor this week is everyone's favorite, A Day For Daisies.  Another great start to the year showcasing the beautiful images that Tammy creates for her shop. Whimsical and vintage looking digi stamps of children, mothers, mermaids and other mystical creatures - a selection of images that appeal to everyone.  The grand prize winner of the challenge this week at SSW2 will receive a $12 gift certificate to A Day For Daisies - a really terrific prize!

I chose this dear, sweet image of a mother and child from A Day For Daisies called "Vintage Mother Reading" to create my card today.  It was colored with Copic markers, the papers used are Stampin' Up and the glittery flowers embellishing it are from Recollections.

Now hop on over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 and check out the beautiful cards the design team made using A Day For Daisies images to inspire you and get your creativity going in this new year!
