Sensational Sketch at Sugar Creek Hollow

Happy Saturday! Today marks the start of Sugar Creek Hollow challenges in 2011. I've been so excited to get back at it with Sugar Creek Hollow images and the regular Saturday schedule with the design team! We have a lot of fun challenges planned each Saturday for you to play along in with free digis as awards, blog buttons to earn for posting on your blogs and even guest designer positions that we'll be promoting. I sure hope you'll join us in the Saturday fun each week.

Our first challenge this year is a sketch challenge that I think you'll have fun creating with. Everyone is invited to enter a card using this sketch. You are not required to use an image from Sugar Creek Hollow, but if you do, you will get two entries into the random prize draw. The winner of that draw will receive a digi of their choice from the Sugar Creek Hollow Shoppe and a badge to display on their blog. Once we reach a minimum of 10 entries, the Design Team will select a Card of the Week and the creator of that card will receive a special badge to display on their blog. Every month there will be a Guest Designer chosen from the Cards of the Week and that person will be invited to join the Design Team in a challenge. There are lots of reasons to enter so we can't wait to see your fabulous creations!

For my challenge card I used the wonderful "Mama's Apron Strings" digi and printed it on October Afternoon's "Thrift Shop" paper. I adherred the lace accents on the image using ScorTape and scrunching the ribbon to make it appear pleated.  You can find this digi stamp here at the Shoppe and it comes with the sentiment I've used as well as a Mother's Day sentiment. I made this card for my dear Mom for her birthday this week. I couldn't resist the retro kitchen and recipe DP - both from October Afternoon "Modern Homemaker" collection. My Mom's banana cream pies are a family favorite - best in the world! How perfect that the DP featured a recipe for it!

Now, to give you another reason to join us each week and to browse the Sugar Creek Hollow Shoppe, consider this:  100% of the proceeds from Sugar Creek Hollow go to charity. That's right! When you purchase items from Sugar Creek Hollow, you are helping to put food in the mouths of hungry children, and provide clothing and shelter for those who are less fortunate. What better reason is that!

For more inspiration, visit the Sugar Creek Hollow blog to see the rest of the design team creations using this week's sketch. The challenge rules and links to the Shoppe and freebies are there too. Thanks for stopping by!

I think this is the cutest thing I've seen done with the apron so far! The colors are wonderful and the touches of crocheted lace and the flower are perfect! Your patterns are just what this vintage apron needs and I love how you added the recipe on the card. I love this!
