Shake, Shake, Shake it Up!

Happy Monday everyone! We're shaking it up a little bit this week at StampFairy with a new challenge to create shaker cards! They may look intimidating but I can tell you if I did it you can too!  This is my first shaker card ever, but it won't be the last because I love this technique! It's a really perfect way to draw attention to your image and add some fun at the same time.

My card features Lenny Happy New Year and Lenny Cupcake images from StampFairy. They were colored in Copics and cut out.  I glued the cupcake image onto a circle background for the shaker part of the card and Lenny with the balloon was glued on top of the shaker itself. I filled the shaker with seed beads that I had on hand. The papers are the "Grandma's Kitchen" collection from We R Memory Keepers - Simple Stripes, Dippity Dot and Rich Ribbon. I found these papers at my local Michael's store. The sentiment is stamped on the DP and cut out using Spellbinders' Ribbon Banners dies.

There are several tutorials out there on making shaker cards.  I followed a tutorial I found HERE at the blog Spyder's Corner which I thought was pretty easy to follow.  We also have a tutorial at StampFairy, which shows another way to create a shaker. Either way yields incredible results :)

Why don't you give it a try and enter our challenge. I can tell you that once you try this you'll do it again because it truly makes a unique card that the recepient will enjoy. I can't wait to give my shaker birthday card to a special friend. Also please pay a visit to the StampFairy challenge blog and see the other shaker cards made by the design team - then you'll get really inspired to make one of these yourself!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Gorgeous card!
Beautiful colours and the images are so cute:)
Thank you for your nice comment, you asked me about the doily on my pink bunny card. Yes it's a doily, not a die cut.
Have a lovely day.
Hugs, Heidi:)

This is such a fun card. I was tempted at first sight to turn this image into a shaker card and I will do it yet. Love your take on it.
