Sweet Sketch Wednesday & Candy Winner!

Greetings everyone! I'm posting today from beautiful Oakland, California where I'm traveling on business this week. It's my first trip to Oakland - it's fun getting to a spot I haven't seen especially when you're traveling for work.

Today starts another Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge and the winners from our 100th sketch celebration have been announced.  I've got a bit of announcing myself - for the blog candy I was offering the blog hop and challenge participants this last week so let's get going!

First I'd like to thank all my new followers and those that left such lovely comments on my blog. It's so fun to make new online friends and I am grateful and humbled that you might get a little inspiration from what I create.  For my blog candy, I took all the names in order from the comments and from there selected from those that are following me and participated in the 100th sketch challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  The name was drawn randomly and I'm pleased to announce that the winner is:

Congratulations Ann! Please send me an email (contact info on the tab at the top of the blog) with your mailing address and I'll get the blog candy out to you in a jiffy! This is the card that Ann entered into the Sweet Sketch Wednesday 100th sketch challenge last week.

Now on to this week's Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge.....

Here's sketch 101 - another fun sketch to work with. This one goes together quick and I love that your background paper really shows through with this design.  I like the off-center focal panel too - it adds such interest to the card.

We're thankful for our wonderful sponsor this week, Sassy Cheryl's.  Cheryl is generously providing a $5 gift certificate to Sassy Cheryl's to the Grand Prize Winner of the challenge this week. Thanks Cheryl! We all loved creating our samples this week with your delightful images.

This Sassy Cheryl's image is called "The Little Girl's Flower" and you can find her HERE.  I colored her with Copics and in some areas that I wanted highlighted, I went over the Copics with Prismacolor pencil. Prismacolor pencil was used for the slight shadowing on the image as well.  At this time, I forgot to include the name of the designer papers that I used. So when I return from this trip, I'll edit the post to include that.

And the final touch is the handmade flower in the lower right corner. I just punched circles from the DP and crumpled them a lot. The purple gingham brad holds the layers in place.

Be sure to visit the Sweet Sketch Wednesday blog to see the other Sassy Cheryl's images we used this week. You'll be inspired by the designs my team-mates came up with this week.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
